good stuff , I've actually been doing this , but have expanded by hiring people . Automation is King ! so to all doing this remember to automate and scale!

to sum up:

  • give free advise to build the list.
  • interview experts for content or re-occurring expert column
  • get a JV with them after the site makes money and let them do the daily work and run it for me
did i miss anything?

You have the answer to your problem within your question, you simply approach the experts, conduct and video some interviews with them offerring inside tips and methods of the markets, then you put it up in forum ex forums and markets and uptube as a free download that captures their email address and name first, you will build your list really fast this way and their should be an upsell planned as well not just your members website.

These Power Sellers all have large list of customers just ripe for an email about a product or new members club.......l know this works because my daughter started one called the auction newbies club and got over a 1000 new members inside two weeks at 15usd each....repeating passive income paid for a car and her holidays each year.

Bumping this thread and have an additional question.

@Nicho,

How does your daughter handle the monthly revenue split so that both parties (herself & the power seller) know each is getting their fair share? In other words, neither party has to trust the other. I've been trying to work this one out.

Is there a joint Paypal account? Or is there some other account that collects the money and then a third party escrow company disperses the funds??

Anyone else have an idea how this would work?
 
Good idea but i doubt about a few things. Anyways will double check what you have explained in the last few lines.
 
I think I found my answer regarding distribution of collected funds. Assuming that monthly membership subscriptions are done through Paypal, the Paypal Mass Payment method would seem to work between the Power Seller and myself.

From Paypal's site:
Mass Payment allows anyone with a Premier or Business account to send multiple payments instantly—saving time, money and the hassle of having to individually send funds to every payment recipient.

This means I would want to set up the Paypal business account so I couldn't be knocked out of the loop as it were.

Because a membership site is global, does that potentially mean accepting other currencies or do I force users to pay in my currency of choice (in my case USD)?

Thank you for your great posts Nicho to me that is what good forums are all about helping all to succeed by offering some ideas and setting out what you are doing personally to experience the success you enjoy. I came from an industry that shared successful business ideas freely for the benefit of all becuase you knew full well that out of all the people who nodded wisely at each point only 1 or 2 would actually run with the idea, but thanks again for taking time out to try to offer help to those who appreciate it.

Goalseeker thanks for yor comments and you of course correct that only a few will run with the ideas and its something l have been thinking about for a few months now wondering what to do about it for 2011.

Its safe to say without upsetting anyone that at some stage of our internet carreers we are all newbies at some point until we actually tried and put into action our business ideas.

I personally am sick to death of people being ripped off and misled by the so called gurus and experts in marketing, especially hate the hype that goes with the new products coming out that are ,basically rehashed information that if you look and did your research could find for free on the internet.

So my new years resolution is to start a new business oppportunities website that is based upon the truth and commonsense, based upon tried and trusted proven methods that actually work, methods that anyone can use to start and build a business from scratch with little experience and money.

And because credibility has to be important to me l am going to make it Free to all comers......no doubt it will upset a few people but l no longer care...its time to level the playing fields a little.

I wonder what everyone elses plans are for 2011.

This is a great thread and I hope I can try to figure out the jv/affil stuff better. I am in health niche and have some local people who I'm interviewing for an ebook. They don't have lists though one has a fb page with around 3k fans. Would using e-junkie be too complicated for them to understand in terms of affiliation? I'd like to not use cb yet till I know if it converts.

I'm not too sure how to find affiliates/jv partners- it isn't eating disorders, but say it was. I see some forums on it- would you approach the forum owner to see if they'd put a link in their next newsletter? Or would approaching a cb similar ebook vendor be an idea? I didn't quite get what you said about the jv with someone for a backend product and they email their list.. I would offer their product in my autoresponder/download page IF they mail their list?? I am stuck with the traffic part- I think the rest I can do though and can see doing interviews in other niches. Jason F has stuff on this but talks mostly about Im niche where the people have lists who will mail for you after the interviews...

Regardless of the subject/category of your niche/product you should be able to find lots of websites/forums that cover your subject, all l have simply done is send the owner an email introducing myself and follow it up to see if theres any interest in a JV.

Depending on how much marketing expertise your potential Jv has, will determine if they just have a single cheap loss leader product like an ebook or if they have a back end product that is much more expensive once they have purchased the cheaper product. If they have then they will have built a reasonable buyers list.

It does not really matter which system you use to handle the jv is most people understand the principle of a 50% deal and you'll be able to work something out between you, its more important not to worry about how its done but get approaching people with your ideas as often they will reveal how they want to set up any JV.

Obviously it will be ideal for you to start with if your potential JV partner has existing lists or a traffic base that could be sold to before you start to try to do the opposite and do affiliate selling on their behalf.

Its just a simple post that they have to make if they have a facebook fanpage.

because it is not a cookie cutter method... but a simple method
where you invest time.. and then cut it loose...
the possibilities are enormous... on a lot of different platforms...

Don't think you should rip someones book , suggest you use someone qualified to answer your question re copyrights.

There's enough niche ideas out there to satisfy 1000's of new business opportunities, it's just a matter of doing the work.

I have not read the multiplier method so l can't comment on it .
 
That is an awesome idea. I read something similar to this in a Dan Kennedy report from about ten years ago. It still holds true. It is amazing that once you start thinking like a marketer you can start seeing all types of ideas for products right in front of your face. I do the same thing with late night infomercials. Just look at what's been advertising for a ridiculously long time and find an angle you can work.

I run a men's online lifestyle mag that covers a broad range of subjects (women, cars, fashion,dating,gadets etc) rather then a niche. And at the moment the content is free. But I want to start a membership section of the site and I wanted to know if you guys had any ideas what members would pay say $30 a month for?

I want to get some of the expert interviews mentioned earlier here, but as for say other "exclusive content" that people want to pay for every month I can't really think of anything since I probably need to cover so much.

Any Ideas?
