Problem with Spam Comments

We all know that comments on our blogs are good, but we still can't help but receive spam comments. I was thinking of blocking the IPs of those who send spam. For now, the comments are set to ask for my approval first so that I could delete them manually.

Use difficult captcha to spam protection. Free plugin cannot do it!

Another alternative solution is bulk delete pending comments. You just approve the solid and real comments. Rest other keeps in pending.
Then run the plugin and choose the option from status. I do myself once a month.

I am using the askimet plugin for my blog. It helps to fight spam comments to some extent. However, I would prefer to use a comment system like Disqus to prevent spam comments and it is very effective.

I would suggest to implement your own protection algorithm. It's not that difficult.

Pretty much an anti spam plugin will do. Especially the ones with captcha.

You could allow only comments through facebook to block most spam.
