First - this is not a pre-sell thread, mods delete it if you find that I'm breaking the rules, I apologize. Second - my dilemma. Since the start of my IM career I've done quite a bit of outsourcing... and what I found is that you can outsource pretty much anything, except for good design - it's rather easy to find a high quality service for programming, content, even seo... but whenever I tried to outsource design, even on bhw (in hopes of lowering my expenses for projects clients pay me) the results were mediocre at best. Reliability, communication, and pace of things obviously couldn't come anywhere close to working with local professionals. So... I'm wondering if I should bother to fill the gap? The designer I work with is one of the most experienced in Canada and has produced over a thousand websites, landers, business cards, etc... about 90% of these were for corporate clients, including some fortune 500 companies. The quality is by far on the high end... but so is the $$$. This is what the point of the whole thread comes down to... The best I would be able to offer this services for is something like $150/landing page and $300/website ... and this is for design only, with me making $10-20 per project at best, or even losing money if there are too many revisions (usually there aren't though). Is this too much considering others sell much lower quality services for $50? My coder charges $100/page which is obviously unreasonable for a forum, so if anyone wants to JV or offer psd -> html services parallel to my service, you're welcome to. So, does it make sense to offer high quality design services on here? I'm not gonna point fingers, but the design services I ordered on here is nowhere close to something I could show to my client and have him buy it for 4-6x the cost... with my designer you easily can, and I do, I'm just curious if anyone on here could use the same service You're welcome to PM me for samples of landing pages, websites, business cards, logos... if too many people ask I will post on here, but I'd rather get your opinion on the issue than judge the designs, because quality isn't the issue here.
