I just read some people's jorney about how they earned money through Cleanfiles/Sharecash/FileIce and I thought I'd start myself. However, searching further, some people dissuaded and claimed that CPA is a much better choice (because PPD serves as a middleman). But I don't understand, if you earn more with CPA, why are people using PPD? I searched and it seems that the only pro of using PPD over CPA is that PPD is easier to use?

If you want to use CPA you need self hosted content locker(if you want to do it good...) and you need multiple cpa networks, it's a lot of work to optimize the offers keeping track of expired ones adding new ones etc..
PPD networks do all this work for you but take a cut.
So I guess people use PPD because its easier and takes less time.

In PPD you can use copyrighted materials but in CPA you can't.
From my Experience CPA is best.. Because PPD networks shave our earnings also it keep on user to complete the survey.. Try with another offer.. bla bla... So user get irritated and simply click [X] in their browser.
Here In CPA Just email submit offer pay us $1 - $2 so Conversion ratio get higher.

PPD networks generally mask the traffic sources from the CPA networks above. They also tend to have highly optimized offers. If you have a file that the CPA network does not want, the PPD network will be complained to and take the blame. Saves me from so much trouble!

They're two different things. Unless you have a file / program / movie / ebook or some data your target audience really wants to download, then I'd stick with CPA....
