Potential 100k+ journey. Advice?

Been lurking here for around 5 months now. Started thinking about doing a journey but i keep doubting if it’s worth it. The idea is basically starting an “internet magazine/blog” for specific type of music and its culture. Although, I’m doubting whether I could monetize it well and that’s why I’m asking your advice here.

The idea is to start with a facebook page and gather a base of 100k tier 1 likes (USA, UK, Europe, Australia). Get to that number through advertising via fb ads, in groups and organic likes through shared posts. Not sure what sort of a budget I need to make this real. So far I’ve started a facebook page and managed to upload a video which gained around 750k views, 8k likes and loads of shares, however this was the only big hit i got. The video gained my group 650 likes, however, long story short it was up for 3-4 days and then the copyright claim came in and took my video down. The group was quiet ever since (10 months).

Alternative facebook groups in this niche have around 100-500k likes and the most popular pages have like 1mil+. However, I’ve seen that the smaller groups are only monetizing through shares.

Once I get to 100k I’m thinking about moving the traffic from the group to my site which will post up the news in that specific niche. Plan to monetize is through adsense. I was wondering of doing the affiliate marketing along, however, I can’t come up with any offers that could possibly be advertised for the music niche I’m targeting.

I’m asking you BHW members whether you think this idea is worth time and money investing which could potentially start bringing in some sort of money back in a while? If so, I will start a journey of making this real.

Reminds me this, lol. Anyway, not a bad idea. You will probably need to buy post boost and pay facebook to get your fans to your website. Though it's cheaper than regular ads, you will be basically paying twice for that traffic. Adsense I'm not sure about but I know such projects use some other admedia networks, can't remember name right now...

I was just wondering about ways to monetize that 100k in niche im targeting.

Paying facebook to get people to my website and then monetizing from ads sounds like loss of money. I’m hoping to already having a base of organic likes that would visit my website from non-promoted posts naturally, is that possible?

In later stages I’m also hoping investing in SEO, so the website could be found through search engines

i think its not, but you can use a "good converting and tested CTA on that post to gain page likes

As far as I know CTA stands for Call to Action, right?

The post is a video that gained 500 organic likes without boosting my post. So your advide is just inviting the people one by one?

First ever try with the facebook adds looks like this:

Set the budget to £7 (£1 daily) for the video to see how it goes. However, realised that I possibly should've added a logo of my page on the video to get more attention.

Set the budget to £5 (£1 daily) for the page ad. Noticed that the conversion rate of this ad is nearly 10% (64 reach/6 likes) and I'm paying £0.13 per page like. In my opinion at the moment it's quite high as I want the 100k so will have to figure a way how to gain more likes via cheaper ways.

Short plan for now is to replace the page ad to a video page ad as I think it's more entertaining for people to see a video rolling instead of a page cover image.

First copyright strike. So I've uploaded this video that I have found on twitter from the "first hands" meaning that the uploader shot the video himself. After uploading it and gaining a couple 10k views the "break clips" claim the video theirs and open a dispute. I was wondering whether I can do anything about it?

And how does it work. Does the "Break Clips" in this case buy the video from the uploader and then claim rights for it or what? Interested
