Pinterest PR came down to 4 from 7

His guys,

I used pinterest for driving traffic to my sites as well as for SEO. It was pr 6 and the recent update made it 7 and the profile pages also had good pr (like pr3 and 2). Now I all of a sudden see the pr of pinterest has come down to pr4.

Is this a glitch or real? I checked it using a couple of rank checkers it seems to be 4. Anyone know of the reason for this?

I just checked the main page and it is still showing 7 for me, with an Alexa rank of 39, weird.

I just checked it through scrapebox too.. it is weird.. yeah alexa is 39 (that can't change over night)..

Yeah.. need to wait and watch.. as the m.pinterest.com is still having a pr6, but all other pages have fallen.. my profile page came down from pr3 to pr2.. and couple of results (pinterest urls) which were ranking in the first page in google search is nowhere in the top 300..

PR 4 over here as well but just like GiftGuru said...I don't check PR and PR certainly is not going to affect the way that I use Pinterest.

Might be something to do with the recent Google Penguin that is causing havoc. I have sites drop from 4 to 3 overnight also.

I agree this is likely from the Google Penguin update. I know sites that were getting 10,000 visitors from Google before the update and less then 1,000 daily after the update

I understand most of us use pinterest for driving traffic (that is my primary purpose too), however so far pinterest acted as a good link building tool and added a lot of seo value for my sites. Wonder if G is cracking its whip on pinterest. G is never kind to its competitors, i think they are considering pinterest as another competition for G+

I don't think it has anything to do with duplicate content.. facebook and twitter has tons of duplicate content.. Simple fact is they cannot act against facebook and twitter as they are quite large.
