Pinterest Discussion Thread <<<<<<<Lets Branstorm

I have been KILLING it on Pinterest for the past 6 months. So much so that I've written some bots that I'm putting together in a whole software suite to be released soon. I'm always surprised that people are having trouble making money from it cuz it seems that the user base and traffic seems to keep growing.

You just gotta stick to it, get serious about your work, don't do anything besides your work, i.e. stop playing video games, watching tv, or any sort of social life cuz all of those things are great n all but will destroy your chances of success in IM, period.

I have little IM / Pinterest experience, but reasonable IT abilities. If you are looking for a newbie to test your Bot and system for future review let me know.

If not best of luck with the Bot.

what strategy do you use? Multiple accounts? How many pins/url?

I'll give you tips but no way will I share strategy. Strategy is $$$,$$$.$$ and competition is only necessary in JVs, just my philosophy. Some tips, though:

1. focus on monetizing traffic and not so much on selling products. It's easier to bank.
2. if you've ever heard the old addage "the more the merrier", it applies very well to monetizing buttloads of traffic in a lot of ways. you gotta be creative and expand on that idea as much as you can.
3. don't do anything but work. it's worth it. i know I said this already but I cannot emphasize it enough. most days I wake up around 9am, make a pot of coffee with my girlfriend and start cracking away at driving traffic via bots and manual methods. I have more of a nightlife these days, but I still run apps on my phone to check stats and start and stop bots while I'm out getting my drink on. Multitasking is an IMer's best friend. Automation is even more important. This tip is probably the best "method" or "strategy" I can offer anyone!

Yup, I'm going to open my mailing list soon to beta testers, feel free to PM me your email and I will add you to the list at some point tonight. The beta testing will start around the last week of july, which is not far off, and I plan on launching the full product mid-august.

Thank you. Just 1 quick question that i'm interested in - i have 100 accounts, and i want to pin 1-5 pins every day with each - how to safe my urls? How many of them, how many per account?
I know,i can test this by myself, but i just can't afford it now.

Tip: To get into a big board your profile often needs to look like a legitimate person. Like for an example, find a semi personal looking picture on Google, make a real looking name and profile, get into big boards, then change your profile to whatever.

i totally agree.
back in my "gain followers days", i was working ALL DAY, some nights until 5 in the morning, doing manual methods.
you MUST have eye bleeding days or else you will never be successful, that's just the fact of the matter.
those days were definitely very rough for me, but they needed to happen for my current income to be a reality :)

Pinterest is by far by biggest traffic generator at the moment, although small I have 1788 followers and it's growing, but at a slow pace. I have a bot that post 1 image every 4 hours. Some of my pics have had more than 10,000 repins and it does generate traffic. In the last 30 days I had 9300 visits from Pinterest, which is still small, but from 1788 followers I think it's okay.

I have read in the forum that you should try to join the community boards and pin on them to get more followers, but I have tried that and nobody wants to add me to a board.

Another thing I have noticed is that my older posts generate way more traffic than the newer posts, and that the life cycle of pins is very long. As an example, my most popular page based on traffic was a post I made over 90 days ago, and it's still generating good traffic.

At the moment I am adding between 2 and 5 followers a day, so by the year 2078 I should have a lot. I am also looking for a way to increase this.

by the year 2078, everything on earth goes to dust...we are moving to the Mars...

didn't use pinterest before, but seems this is a good way to get traffic from, thanks for the information!

Pinterest is a really good traffic driver to your website imo, I personally use some of the most popular pinned images/photos from Pinterest, download and re-use them onto my sites and blogs. After like a week or so, I manually repin them back onto my Pinterest board.

Just remember not to repin or pin too often as it may be considered spam. My 2 cents.

Hello.
I have two good authority pinterest accounts with more than 6K followers and getting up 50 new followers every day.
At the moment I'm selling pinterest services in fiverr (will stop it soon) - niche board pins (more than 50 group boards) and pins to my accounts. From my clients reviews activity and sales are very good but it depends on the niche.
Now I'm scale it up with New accounts, Private proxies etc.

Im also building authority websites to send traffic there but have not much success in sales. Have not found how to monetize but Im testing it. Will not use Adsense in my sites but trying something similar and also ClickBank and CPA.
Also I have some statistic what and how other affiliates are doing pinterest marketing.

@Tensegrity let me know when your software suite will be released

Good Luck

Martins

Hi I don't have enough posts to PM you, I would appreciate if you could PM me, then we could swap emails.

Note I have near zero Pinterest knowledge, some IM theory, but good IT skills, so to get the bet from you Bot I will need some guidance - maybe even some of that closley guarded $$$trategy :-)

thanks ColinK

you should also use tools to help you with understanding what works and what doesn't - http://www.reachli.com helps you measure clicks-throughs sales and you can actually schedule pins, i highly recommend it and it's free.

Can you guys discuss what is a safe amount of followers to follow everyday?

If you guys are following say 200 people per day. Do you do it all at once? Or 20 every hour etc..?

Also do you follow rapidly one after another or 1 every 3 seconds etc..?

Just want to know what is safe and won't get you banned.

I've been following around 400 people per day very fast (about 1 second sleep in between) on 5 accounts for the last 4 months or so. No bans yet. I try to keep a maximum of 5 accounts per IP to avoid bans.

guys, same question - how abour urls? Do you pin with only 1 url? How much? Can i use cloaked links?

Best way to find out the answers to this is to experiment. At the moment, however, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of anti-spam measures regarding following and pinning unless your pins get reported.

Bullshit! Pinpioneer is useless. I bought it 6 months ago and it's never worked. Sent several e mails to support but Eric or whatever his name is never replies and I guess that is because his inbox is full of requests from angry customers.

Pinpioneer works fine and has for the last year
Great team behind it, worth picking up.

If you're like this guy and lack common sense then don't buy it, takes a bit of thinking to use it.
