Hey Guys, apologies for the format, line breaks don't want to work right now :? anyways... Just wanted to give everyone a heads up about Pinterest bans since this sub-forum is growing very fast. Pinterest just pulled one of my accounts for 'spammy/sexual content.' My content was all fashion related items, not sexual or spammy at all. I was botting on a private proxy, one account per proxy, and not being too aggressive. My settings were: ~170 pins a day, scraped, with 60% of them with my URL in the source and 40% of them with my URL in the description. ~80 repins a day. A few likes and follows every couple of days. I believe the ban was because of the quantity of URLs I was pushing out but its hard to be 100% sure. What I learned from my experience: - Pinterest will not issue a you warning, a password reset, ect. - Pinterest will tell you your account is suspended when you try to log in but they will have removed all your content when you go to your Pinterest URL. - Pinterest allows you to dispute your suspension but is unresponsive with emails. - Pinterest will not allow you to resign up with the email you used on your account that was suspended. - This is ALL at Pinterest's digression (obviously) however, don't think you are exempt because you adhere to their posting guidelines, if they want you out, you're out! No questions asked. Notable: I have other Pinterest accounts, one in the recipe niche (cause that's what everyone does on Pinterest right!?) with the same settings, but with no proxy, a going a little lighter on the URLs. This account has had no challenges. Happy Pinning!

These might be on the aggressive side for one account. I used to pin/repin 150-200/day and got suspended (got it back). Restarted with multiple accounts, each pinning/repinning only 20-50/day. Painfully slow process to 50K+ followers but only 1 suspension (also got it back).

Nah. Not showing my accounts here. Point of my post is OP is too aggressive in pinning/repinning. Spread the 150+ pins over several accounts to avoid bans.

You might be going a little too heavy on putting your URL in the source and description. I follow the 80/20 rule. 80% everyone else's urls and descriptions, 20% of my own. I have been pinning around 50-75 pins per day per account and haven't had any issues yet.

When I first started pinning I was going with 40% my url/description 60% everything else, and I got put in safe mode. I assumed it had something to do with how often I was self-promoting. Since I scaled it back a little, I have had no problems.

Thanks for your input cyrusdavirus and kahuna74. I will dial things back a tad and see how it goes. Just as an update, Pinterest refused to give my account back and closed my ticket so I could no longer complain..LOL!

I really don't understand these spammy/sexual content bans. I've been watching one account that specializes in soft porn and fetishes. Seriously, like most of this guy's 13k pins are all devoted to content that contains nudity or is extremely sexually suggestive. He even has a board for collecting Lolita-like images, called "Little Girls". Over 20k followers

How does an account like this stay active?

Do you guys buy your accounts somewhere or do you make them manually?
I bought 100 accounts a week ago, and now I'm left with only 36. This is crazy. I wasn't even aggressive. Followed somewhere around 350 people per account in total, and I pinned maybe 5% of images from my websites.
Did they get really good at fighting spam or did I bumped into bad accounts? Any opinions?

Perhaps, your proxy you used with one account has been put into black list, so pinterest bans your account fast.

Wow, things seem to have changed. Thanks for this useful post, does anyone have any advice on how many follows/unfollows should be done? have been aggressively following people to get followers back lately,

That is their default message they send everybody....Once they ban you, you will never get that account back no matter how hard you try.

All 15 of my accounts are still in tact. I don't pin much but, maybe 20 pins every 2 weeks.
