I have some Facebook profiles I purchased that I use for advertising.

At some point, these profiles had a phone number linked to them, but not anymore. Still, Facebook keeps asking me for a code that’s supposed to be sent to the WhatsApp number that was once linked. Does anyone here know how I can get rid of this headache? I want it to stop asking for anything related to that phone number.

The number is no longer linked anywhere on Facebook. I’ve already deleted previous login sessions, and the authenticator is set up. And even after all that, it still asks me for WhatsApp codes :(

This is a recent issue on Facebook — it keeps asking for a code from WhatsApp. I'm experiencing the same problem and still struggling to find a solution

That’s a common issue with reused Facebook profiles. Even if the number is unlinked, traces can remain in Facebook’s system. Try clearing cookies/cache, resetting the browser fingerprint, and logging in through a clean environment

When you bought that account, you have not changed the information from phone number or gmail, so when you run ads or share the account, they always ask you to confirm the code.

Hey there, I know this a bit old but I did exactly what you say. I'm still getting the whatsapp code confirmation.

Do I have to wait like 24 hours or something for it to be in affect?

I guess you might have missed something somewhere, because this method can still be used at the moment.
 
You can try checking if the number is still saved anywhere in your Facebook settings under “Access and Security.” Sometimes, even after unlinking, the number remains cached in login sessions or backup data.

it won't have 24 hours if you log in with a new device, maybe my way was fixed by meta. You can also bypass it via developers.facebook depending on your purpose
 
Delete the old number from your account, enable 2FA using an authenticator app, log out of all devices, and log back in using your email. If it still asks for a WhatsApp code, file a dispute with Facebook.
 
Remove your old phone number, add a new verification email, enable 2FA using an authenticator app. Then log out completely and log back in. If you're still being asked for a WhatsApp code, report the error to Facebook for support.
 
Facebook still stores the old number in security settings. Remove all 2FA methods, clear cache, log in again, or report the issue through Facebook Help to reset verification options.
 
It sounds like Facebook still has the old number cached somewhere in the account’s security data. You can try removing it completely under the ‘Security and Login’ > ‘Two-Factor Authentication’ section, then clear active sessions and log in again.

It seems like Facebook's system hasn't fully purged the old number association. Try submitting a help request to Facebook specifically mentioning the persistent WhatsApp code prompt despite the number being unlinked
