hey guys...

I need some help!

I have some Facebook profiles I purchased that I use for advertising.

At some point, these profiles had a phone number linked to them, but not anymore. Still, Facebook keeps asking me for a code that’s supposed to be sent to the WhatsApp number that was once linked. Does anyone here know how I can get rid of this headache? I want it to stop asking for anything related to that phone number.

The number is no longer linked anywhere on Facebook. I’ve already deleted previous login sessions, and the authenticator is set up. And even after all that, it still asks me for WhatsApp codes :(

This is a common headache when Facebook still retains old information. But there really is no other way if you have lost access to your old phone number.

you can only use these accounts when you can get the code from the linked phone numbers, otherwise it is really difficult, almost most people will abandon that account because it cannot be used.

If you bought the accounts, you'll want to get in touch with the seller about those numbers. Otherwise, you could try and contact support about it but I doubt it'd go over too well doing that over multiple accounts.
No clean workaround for this so either get access back to those numbers through the account seller or contact support about it. All else, you might want to consider retiring those those and switch to cleaner profiles with full access control from day one.

This issue can happen if Facebook cached the old number or if it's still linked in their backend. Try removing the number via mobile app > Settings > Personal info > Contact info. Also, clear all browser cookies + device history, and re-login from a fresh IP/device.
If that doesn’t work, you may need to appeal or use a different trusted profile.

There is no way of recovering it as much as you want without talking to support about it. Use a verified account so you can speak to them over the phone.

That WhatsApp code issue’s a pain! Try Meta Accounts Center > Security > 2FA, disable WhatsApp option

Forget about thee accounts for good, get new accounts, and move on with your work.

There's no magic way to fix that issue. You should contact the seller you bought the accounts from. Reaching out to support won't be of much help to you

You are experiencing a very common problem with “used” or purchased Facebook accounts – and it is really annoying.
You should: Access from a device/IP that has successfully logged in before
Use the “Verify another way” link (if available)
Increase trust by ‘prewarming’ the account

This is a common and frustrating issue when Facebook retains outdated information. But honestly, there's no other solution if you've lost access to your old phone number. Switch to a new profile, create a new account, and continue with your work.

Have you tried reaching out to Facebook support directly? They might have specific steps to help unlink that old WhatsApp number.

Facebook may still have old data related to WhatsApp numbers. Try clearing cache, changing IP, using a clean browser. If you are still asked for a code, it is best to switch to a new profile that has been carefully prepared, because the old profile may have been marked as secure.

This is the new annoying algorithm of meta they will bring everything to WhatsApp when you log in from a different IP address than the original IP. This is really disappointing

Sounds like the old number is still cached on Meta’s backend even if unlinked. Try this: go to Settings > Security > Two-Factor > Turn off all methods. Then re-add only Authenticator. Also clear sessions on all devices. If it still asks for WhatsApp, you might need to recover via appeal or swap IP/device to trigger alt flow.
