So i would just put in craigslist dot com and it automatically searches for apartments for rent and emails attached? I would think it would search the entire site for emails.

Well it continues to follow links and crawls the site that way, but you can grab specific URLs from craigslist or certain sections and import those URLS. If you click the "open" button next to the URL field you can import more than one URL.
This seems a really good product. I will buy it as all GSA software is astonishing (except Indexer, that really made me ask for refund xD)
By the way santos, does it scrape directly from google or from a list of urls? I can scrape urls then this software could parse the scraped urls but would love a reply

It has options to scrape from the search engines based on your keywords or you can feed it URL's it will crawl and extract emails from.

hi im a newb too this email list building stuff. used to sell on eby but now trying to get into selling on a website and learning seo ect...ive read time and time again email lists are "where the money is". ok fast forward a few days of nonstop reading and ive come to the idea that an email scrapper was the easy way to go. i downloaded the gsa spider trial version to play with and i like it. almost to the point that im ready to buy. however after reading this thread it seems way more over my head than i realised. everyone is talking about "proxys" and servers switching ip's n all this stuff. i only have a "basic" understanding for these things. im not a freaking super hacker! lol i dont mind learning all that stuff!
but my question is can someone like me run this program without doing all that super complicated hacker extra stuff (using proxys ect)? or is this just for advanced hacker types?
whats the bare minimum that i have to do to have any REAL success with this spider? i want to shoot out a few thousand emails a day with no problems

lol first I want to say that this software has absolutely nothing to do with hacking and neither would running proxies. Proxies just allow you to scrape more websites from the search engines without getting blocked. If you were to go into the google search bar and type in queries really fast continuously, Google would see you as a bot and would block you. Using proxies gives you different I.P.'s so it doesn't appear like the queries are coming from the same computer and you don't get blocked so fast.
That's why a lot of us here on the forums using proxies for SEO tools and programs like this, but not hacking lol. Even though proxies are used for that, this forum isn't really about hacking lol. It's marketing/seo/joint ventures/business etc.
You would probably be alright without the proxies but there aren't any training videos on how to use the software. I recommend downloading the trial and see if you can understand the features. There is some basic info about it here: http://docu.gsa-online.de/email_spider
You can get hundreds/thousands of emails pretty quickly using the software without using proxies.

lol thanks for clearing that up for me! lol i was exaggerating a bit i know its not about hacking here...some of the things discussed just sounds like a foreign language to me!yea i downloaded the trial version and its pretty straight forward for what i need. i bookmarked this thread because it really helped me out alot. do you have any suggestions for a good proxy i can get?

Awesome, sounds good! A lot of people recommend buyproxies.org for proxies. I'm using 50 shared proxies from proxy-n-vpn and they're working great for me.

Can anyone tell me is it possible to safetly use this software in EU ?
I live in one of the EU countries and as I know sending inquiries to companies is allowable by law (but it wasn`t several years ago, it was changed recently we can send inquiries only to the companies - not offers ,before we can`t send offers and inquiries), only when you send to private persons you can get in trouble for spam here, that is how the law works in my country, is it the same in other EU countries ?
What about the rest of the World ?
As I know US is most restrict in this case so sending out the emails (doesn`t matter is it an offer or inquiry only) to US companies is asking for trouble as I read on several IM forums
If I lets say scrape yelp or other business directories I will get only business email addresses so it`s pretty easy to avoid sending emails to private persons but I am not sure about law in other EU countries and rest of the World, has anyone of you any knowledge about that ?
What about sending from EU mass emails to private persons from China or Russia with the aff offers, there are pretty big markets ?
Do they respect any SPAM laws or can we get in trouble by this ?
Santos, I think it could be a good idea (maybe) to build a software which could use a contact forms on the websites and business directories like Yelp (send a message to business feature) cos we bypass all the antispam filters, currently I hire people to send "mass" inquiries via contact forms to businesses, the way I am doing that is I bypass all the CAN-SPAM rules - as I know it can`t be taken as a SPAM if I use a contact form on the website or in business directory, the other advantage of contact forms using is I bypass all antispam engines ,100% of the messagess are recived and I have quite high response rate. But it is still manual work I have to pay for, so it would be fantastic to have the software like this to go into business directories and use their contact forms to send out inquiries. What you think about that ?
