Awesome idea. Only clicks generated from the actual source you're promoting on (Facebook, for example) are registered. If you try to direct link, or have users click on the link from a source other than the source selected, the clicks won't registered.
But I do have some questions for the OP:
1. I noticed that when I try to post the generated link on one of my fanpages, it won't let me. FB gives me an error saying that the link has been flagged for spam. I'm sure all of us would like a response on this issue.
2. For FB, What's to stop a publisher simply iframing the link on an app? What's to stop the publisher from clickjacking the links?
3. Are links even clickable from FB apps? Since all apps on FB aren't actually hosted ON FB's URL... They're hosted on an individual's server, which is iframed on FB.
3.5 If we are able to use apps on FB to promote the links, are we allowed to make our own banners or image creatives for each link, and use the generated link as the URL that's clicked when a user clicks on the banner?
