I ordered an Amazon keyword package with the 1300 search upgrade, min $100 product, and extra 15 long tail keywords. The main keyword I received was a "best product" keyword for a niche I thought would be highly saturated. I received a Traffic Travis report with this keyword and the competition. Ranking for these keywords should not be a problem because of the weak competition already ranking on the first page.
My only concern is the top spot is also an Amazon "best product" website and ranks for same keywords. I wasn't expecting another Amazon site to compete with. The competitor's site has been around since 2014, has a lot of good content, nicely laid out, and videos. Fortunately, I did some quick checks of this competitor's backlinks and found between 500-500 and many backlinks come from blog comments and directory listings that I could also get. I think I could rank #2 with little effort and maybe grab #1 with some PBN help.
