The backlinks are starting to appear slowly ( as I didn't want to ping any I just wanted them to appear naturally), and I have seen a lift in serps which I will hope continues.

They didn't show up in the scrapebox backlink checker but when I checked them manually everything was ok(I checked random ones, not all of them of course). That was weird!
