Penguin is so fast? or its just me?

Hi there,

so something had happen to me..

i started a new site,

the site content + on page seo was really good, content 1300+ words only home page with 6 images all with different alt tag, site with 7 pages of contact us , about us ,TOS, etc.v - i let google fully index all the site before making any link.

now i only build link twice using magic submitter.
send to web 2.0 pages, total of 70 web 2.0 - made in 2 weeks , never pinged.
the anchor diversity was 10% kw , 25% url , 30% generic words , 35% Long tails

to the web 2.0 i made using AMR 200 AA links using anchor of long tails.

to the AMR articles i made 1300 wikis links using long tails.

never ping both amr and wikkis.
since yesterday morning i rank dropped from 34 to 80. its the penguin?
btw im not connected to google analytics or google webmaster tools.

WHAT IS MY MISTAKE? SHOULD I START OVER ALL AGAIN?

I will appreciate your advice as i really took things slow and wanted to make it work..

Used spun content on web 2.0?

EDIT: maybe it is just dance?
 
Is its a new site then they normally drop for a while
 
very light spun content... i dont think the % of different variation was above 40%

links place in the web 2.0 was always altered..

its not a drop, its a dive down, do you know what i mean? - form 34 to 45 ok, i can understand, but anything behind the 50 looks like a penalty...
 
Nope, no need to start all over again.

From the information you've provided, it looks like the usual dance. Wait for a few days and it should stabilize.
 
I think you may be going a bit to quick for such a new site.

I had new site appear at position 14. I carried out some link building and immediately dropped to 138 and then out of the serps completely.

I now have another site sitting on page one (granted its low competition) and I am to nervous to do anything else apart from whitehat right now, or at least until we know what pingu is about.

i really hope you are right here, how many days its usually takes this dance? been awhile since i danced with google..
 
its can be related that on the server, i have also 2 other penelized domains? (and 3 more very much e commerce doamins...)
maybe because of the name of the domain owner that is related to penelized domains?
 
Actually I agree with most folks here. It's a penalty. But for sure, just wait and see. (And don't forget to update this thread.)

from what i know this is a penalty, but so quick? with such low amount of links?
 
I believe you simply fell into this new part of Google Algorithm that compares number of visits and number of links built...
Just think about it - your website has most likely close to 0 visits, similarly to your web 2.0 properties.

And now, all of the sudden - your main site has 70 links and each from the properties even more links. Who could build these links, if there are no visist?
Keep in mind that you have your site in Google Analytics - so they know everything about the number of your visits.

The numbers I described simply do not make sense for the Penguin... that's it!

im NOT connected to google analytics, how google can know my visitors? maybe im using a different advertising network which is not Adwords?

you are right, if i indeed made all those links directly to my homepage.. but only 70 links are directly to my homepage.. which is not alot for 2 weeks, and never pinged them.
also probably some got deleted..

the rest is tier 2nd and 3nd. - and when you split the numbers its like every web 2.0 got 2.5~ links, each amr article got 3~ links... which is not much - and also didnt pinged.

so the numbers are quite low...
 
Are you using any analytics (clicky, statscounter and etc)?
You should take a look at your traffic if it's down. Look if the page that is ranking is the same that you want to rank.
Although I think this drop is because of your links but maybe you have missed something.
 
Hi mate,

i am afraid that nobody will tell you now what is your mistake, simply because nobody knows how this "strangest google algorithm change ever" is working.

I personally think you are building links too fast. What is your KW density on your page? Btw have you tried to speed up your site with image compression etc?

density is 2.5% , and yes im using gzip.
 
Sounds like a dance to me. Give it a couple of weeks.
