Penguin analyzed

First proper read of the new update situation. thank you for sharing

It seems they mean any keyword anchor containing your money keyword, so the examples you provided would all fall into that category.

You want to hear something funny, In my google webmaster account, google says there are two websites linking to me and they are woorank.com and seoupgrader.com. Both these sites are seo evaluation services and these sites do not have links to my site. Is Google trying to tell me something!?!

I think you still may be there somewhere, or most likely you were there at some point and not there now, they just haven't been updated by their bots just yet. I still have links that are showing, where I am not there.

I don't think you understand what I was saying. Those two sites I mentioned are 100% not linking to me and these are the only two links showing in my gwt account. After panda 3.3, google stopped showing me any data in gwt, everything says no data available.

Then one day seoupgrader.com shows up and just yesterday woorank.com shows up. These are seo evaluation sites. Go look at them. I have thousands of links pointing to my site, but none of them show in gwt post panda 3.3.

Strange indeed....I don't think they would single you out though. Piss anyone off lately, did ya? :)

I've decided to take my stuff out of g ANALytics and WMT. Shenanigans like this and what they've made me go through makes me think: what's the point of letting them in on what I'm doing. It's only made things worse for me.

Are those 60% exact match keywords. For example do you count (money keyword is lcd tv) samsung lcd tv, sony lcd tv, lcd tv for sale, and lcd tv in those 60%.

As far as i know for over 60% phrase match there was always a filter. Many sites of mine tanked due to that, long time before panda updates. These are page related, so when i changed a post urls and i didn't 301 old post to the new one, the ranking was back pretty quicky, after i did proper backlinking.

So i think it is more, lack of links from related sites problem.

What is best (the easiest) way to get links from related sites?

If i am getting links from related pages can this be enough

I think any term that is a high volume keyword you are trying to rank is an "exact match keyword". So stuff like "lcd tv" and "sony lcd tv" are in the 60%.

However I think the term "money keyword" was meant for only the biggest keyword that sites were trying to rank for.

The WMT tools data they gather whether you have an account or not all you do by taking your sites out is disadvantage yourself. You don' even run any java so there is no way they can gather info through WMT. If you run adsense on your sites they gather more info through adsense scripts than they ever could through WMT. Analytics yes they gather more info and I wouldn't recomend it for any truely BH sites. However I have quite a few "Grey hat site" that have used analytics for 6 years + and it has never been a problem for me.

Finally some quality information with solid foundations regarding the penguin update. Definitely the best and the most informative article I've read today.

The only sensible thing Ive read about Penguin update.

1)Vary Anchor Text
2)Link to relevant niche sites (for the most part)
3)Obtain whitehat links to supplement your "blackhat links"
4)Dont be lazy
5)Make Monies

+Thanks and rep given. I would not want to be in this service having my stuff tracked like this... but I'm very thankful for this information! This has been EXCELLENT and has given me more confidence moving forward - as I suspected the anchor text thing looks like why I might've gotten hit. Thanks :)

Though the information looks to have substance but if I apply the same reasons to couple of my pure white hat sites that have 90% links from related sites that doesn't works out.

My best guess is that there is something more to that and that is Link Velocity (and something I don't even have an idea of). One other site of mine deosn't even have a single related site link but has started to rank. The only thing that sticks out is that the link velocity for this site has been the lowest even thought the niche is ultra competitive and competition was building links in truck loads before the update.

I read this a few days ago, this information is solid especially the micro sites method he mentions, I've tested this with another member lately on a medium comp site that was hit using his method but with aged web 2.0s all themed to the niche of the money site treating each one as an authority site in itself using every sort of link platforms then linking back to them and some to the money site, the site recoverd quite quickly its highest position before any updates was #4 its returned now to #2

SEO is far from dead :p.....

the 60% money keyword statement, does it mean a total of 60% of the links or 60% of the domains?

is it counting each blogroll link as 1 link or say 32000 on every page a large site?

so you didnt create micro sites you created web 2.0s then build so links to them?? did you blast links or did you manually build(i dont know what u mean by every type of link platform)? what type of links were they? im currently working on a similar method but havent seen any results so drastic

what sort of content was used on the web 2.0s etc etc???

The web 2.0s are aged and they are themed to the niche of the site each one is treated as an authority site itself all with unique content with links coming from a real private blog network, other lower tier web 2.0s (all blasted with various links), high pr bms, lots of social network links such as phpfox, jcow links etc these are rare link types, wikis, high pr commenting, high quality article directorys all pointing to these main "micro sites" and a some of these are directed at the money site too, plus a few other tricks, but the main thing being these mirco sites imo

I was shocked at the results and this was even before i had read the article in the OP, but it seems to be working a treat, a few quality links coming into your money site now is worth a lot more than 1000 spammy ones....

Great analysis T0mmy. I'm going to need to treat my web 2.0's with more respect from now on :) Part of my modification to my linking strategy is going to be based off of this.

I was looking at some of the results that google was showing for one of my short tail keywords and its absolutely bullshit. There are three sites that dominate the first three pages of results. Yes, three web pages, have so many pages ranked that they take up the first three pages in the SERPs...What is that?
