Penguin analyzed

The most interesting thing is that micro site masters tracks and retains all of your info including your niches and keywords used. Then they reverse engineer to see what works.

Hey guys,

I just received email from micrositemasters (keyword checking tool). Seems like they have analyzed penguin algorithm based on their ranking data. Read it, seems like very good information and it's exactly what we are looking for now.

Thanks for posting this article.

Well, micrositemasters is keyword tracking service. It would be weird if they won't track keywords :D

Hopkins makes a point. It's one thing to track your keywords for you. It's quite another to record everything and analyze your websites and keywords without permission. You should reconsider this service.

Well, when you give keywords and websites data to a company, I think you agree that they have rights to use this data, but not give away it to third parties. This is how 90% of companies work. Even Google. I'm pretty sure they have included this in TOS.

If you will think that way, then seomoz, ahrefs, majesticseo, semrush need to be sued because they collect data of billions websites without owner's permission and provide that data to all users for $ or for free.

Micrositemasters didn't reveal any data and in the end, they done this for their customers and for people who are interested about this algorithm but don't have much data to analyze it. Everyone is happy in the end

Sweet man thanks for posting this. This is why we need a service here that allows alot of keywords/urls!

Ok, that was good article. All off that have been said on this forum, but that sums it up.

Thanks for sharing this it made me felt better

Anyway the give us valuable info and that is actually the first statement that is based on some research and evidence. Thanks for sharing it.

It'd be a little hard for us to track your rankings without having the information. Also just to clarify and speak directly to what you're referencing, we compiled the initial datasets using random data and then applied it to the general dataset to run the overall view. Outside of literally checking 10-15 sites one time each to make sure that we weren't "blindly trusting the output" - we didn't even look at the keywords/domains/etc themselves.

We didn't record anything. We generated on the fly, compiled, grabbed the output, put it into an output file, and then deleted all data that we gathered in regards to running this dataset.

Also just a pro-tip just to clarify something else, the dataset we analyzed wasn't just "subscribers data". We don't only track data for our subscribers, we track a lot of randomized data as well for situations like this.

There's a direct reason why we never gave any specifics out, any data related to the actual process and most importantly any details about any queries at all.

Just figured I'd chime in and say my 2 cents. :)

Fair enough!

Btw, Bofu2U is a great person who knows a lot about SEO. I am sure he won't do such illegal things such as recording other's data! He is not zuckerberg ;)

Sharing my own experience. I can clearly see from one of my sites that it's mostly related to my backlink anchors.
Most pages on that site have same structure and same keyword density (not much, about 2%). Content is unique and related to those 2-3 keywords aimed on each page. It's a competitive niche (french dating related) and I had good ranking.
I keep track of about 80% of my backlinks in a DB.
Pages that I didn't puched much that have diversity anchors still rank at same positions.
But pages that have high "money keyword" rate in backlinks anchors all dropped (in fact above 60%).
Actualy I working of the hard process of clearing some of those "money keyword" backlinks (forum signatures & co).

Interesting, I went back to agency side after my own affiliate portfolio (bout 6k a month) died with Panda. We (now I'm working for someone again) are seeing a number of paying SEO service clients drop off the rankings.

Who cares if you are number 1 in Y/B = sod all revenue. From the sites I have seen (and actually placed - decent in-content links, no spammy shit) I'm almost at a loss. Many have been taken down that shouldn't have the only factor I can see is that there was an input in place based on keywords, based on URLs. Heck, I even made sure the clients varied the anchor! The clients also did their own thing and had enough social media mentions, document shares, press coverage etc to work with this.

This update is clearly odd. I'd be interested to see if anyone else can pull any corkers aside from I suggest you all try : https://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&sclient=psy-ab&q=search+engine&fp=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&cad=b

First build awesome site

then do seo and advertisement

I think this is the key of success

Probably building mfa sites and ranking won't work anymore

Nice share, thanks for this information. I know the same things in that article have been mentioned before, but still very useful information.

nice share.

after a week beeing shocked and suffering i started backlinking again.
wikis and not one kw as anchor. will try to bring the kw anchor text down on the downrated pages.

Good read and thanks for this info. This makes it much clearer for me in formulating a strategy to get back in there. I basically tells me to be smarter about anchor text and link to more niche friendly places. It seems to me to let my onpage SEO dictate keyword preference, just stay away from using it for anchor text at all.

I have been a bit paralyzed not knowing what to do. I don't know if this changes too much for me at this point.

The penguin update has to have something to do with your anchor text, but this what Panda 3.3 was about too. Maybe google turned up the dial to be way more sensitive than it was previously?

When I was hit on Feb 17th with Panda 3.3, it took a couple weeks to figure out how to fix the problem and when we figured out it was based on anchor text, I vigorously de-optimized my anchor text and recovered most/if not all of my long tail SERPs and had seen good improvement with my short tails and my earnings were starting to come back to pre-panda 3.3 levels. And now penguin - crap!

You want to hear something funny, In my google webmaster account, google says there are two websites linking to me and they are woorank.com and seoupgrader.com. Both these sites are seo evaluation services and these sites do not have links to my site. Is Google trying to tell me something!?!

Are those 60% exact match keywords. For example do you count (money keyword is lcd tv) samsung lcd tv, sony lcd tv, lcd tv for sale, and lcd tv in those 60%.

As far as i know for over 60% phrase match there was always a filter. Many sites of mine tanked due to that, long time before panda updates. These are page related, so when i changed a post urls and i didn't 301 old post to the new one, the ranking was back pretty quicky, after i did proper backlinking.

So i think it is more, lack of links from related sites problem.

What is best (the easiest) way to get links from related sites?

If i am getting links from related pages can this be enough
