2) Service providers who are also allowed to be MODs....conflict of interest anyone? Example - Bigbuddy! MODs should NOT also be service providers.
You're right(better be safe than sorry), but let's not take one example and apply to every single mod. Being a mod carry responsibilities, and from my knowledge, they ain't getting paid at all, so they are working for free, and they are doing a great job.
Being a mod increases the trustworthiness of that BST, resulting in more sales blah blah and hence the scamming potential...so the difference between jr. vip and a moderator would be that a mod could steal at a larger scale and for an extended timeframe(as shown in the bigbuddy case, even if reported it takes a while...)
But, let's take odds in consideration:
I'm more likely to see 10-15 reputable members going on the dark side before I see a mod doing so.
Anyway, taking that incentive away would put a MOD at greater inferiority, and they are left with what?
A red name that I easily confound with "banned" color, and maybe the pride of "look son, I'm superior than you" which I doubt it's the case with the BHW's beloved MODS, as they prove more maturity than anyone.
I know, I know, it's not your fault cuz they chose to contribute to forum without expecting anything in return, but at least they should get the benefits of a normal user, right?
I remember Apricot saying that mods are reviewed 5x-10x times harder than a regular seller.
P.S: how many times did I said mod?
