I got an email just now (didn't get picked up by my spam filters) of a payment receipt of $156...I never made this payment and I'm 100% it's a scam...although as of yet the payment isn't showing in my transaction history (I know it can take time to update).

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this....is this "from" email a scam? The merchants email certainly looks like one. But I don't understand this scam as it's a payment receipt ..it isn't asking me to confirm anything and nothing has gone out of my account (at the moment).

I've sent PayPal an email...although when I tried to report it as a phishing scam in the PayPal security part (on the official website) just comes up with this error.....maybe they are doing maintenance, but it's quite inconvenient.

I hope someone knows more about this and I hope it helps out others. I'm all for black hat IM methods and techniques....but scamming people... it's just wrong!

hi
in the email u received there must be a click here link .... paste that link here and i will tell u whats what
i meant click it and then copy it from your browser or just right click it then copy link location

All the email address links are mailto: links, although the bottom link (to open a dispute) is:

http://87.106.95.7/.au/au.htm

I tried this link earlier....I'm guessing this is part of the phishing scam - where "not so" savvy Internet people enter their login details to a mirror website?

Seems as though these "pieces of shit" scammers didn't get their link right...although even if you enter the L to complete .html - it still comes up with an error. That's what made me question this scam even more....I hope they are just retards.

Will report to PayPal when their website is back up and running.
