paypal negative balance..

If you have lost the dispute Paypal will normally try and make a small claims court against you if you dont pay them back. That sounds blunt but it is what they do. Is the dispute case closed?

I did that to someone but he deserved it.. Its a phone call that takes like 2 minutes.. I didnt use the someone else.. I told them them bla bla bla.. and took 2 mins i got my money back even though they tried to fight it.. Ebay and paypal always side with the buyer

If money have been sent as personal/gift - you don't have any protection.
About negative balance - if you have credit card/bank account tied to your account, PP will try to withdraw money...

Well, I read your case and i'm sure that your amount will be in negative until you pay the money.

Thanks for the replies. Is this anyway I can delete my account?

I have a credit card linked to my PP account, so I simply need to cancel that card and get a new one so PP can't withdraw without my permission right?

I've called customer care a number of times, it's always the same answer.

-Surely they wouldn't take me to court for such a small amount of money right?

if you are sure about this, go on court, also sue them if you win!!! idiots..

I've had a few dealings with Paypal over things Ive bought and had problems with - not as a seller

but the conversations I've had with them - basically always come down to the way something was paid for - and what records exist to prove your case.

for example I ordered something from ebay paid via paypal -- the postal service said the package was delivered but I did not receive it .. as we have a package office in that complex and the guy who runs it also said he was working when they said it was delivered but they never dropped it off ..... so as a buyer I lost my money and I never received the goods.

bringing that back to your place -- the buyer got a refund from his bank - they charged Paypal - so now Paypal is wanting the money back from you -- it doesn't matter what you have at this point - Paypal is out money and they are wanting it from you.

Not sure on the Court Part -- but they will definately make some effort to collect from you in the future.

Are you joking? They do fuck all apart from send the debt to debt collectors, who when realise that they are getting nowhere send the debt onto someone else. At the end of the day nothing happens.

Delete added credit card asap and then just forgot to use again Paypal with your name, IP and etc...

Yeah the whole "small claims court" thing sounded like bullshit to me.

Well smalls claims court, especially in the UK, is were the small people, battle it out with the small people, over something small. Ie a builder has not been paid for work, or someone has paid a builder and they have not done the work.

It's the same in the US. Another thing though is that it is local. Meaning you file in person, in the county precinct, wait a few weeks and then show up in person at the Justice of the Peace and make your case without an attorney.

We sued a furniture company, and they sent a lawyer, who started trying his fancy shit and the JP (who was NOT an attorney, lol) shut his ass down right away.

Bottom line: Did they sell us defective furniture, yes or no? Yes. Did we give them ample opportunity to fix or replace the furniture, or refund the money and take the furniture back, yes or no? Yes. Will we accept replacement or repair now? No. We want full refund, and damages.

Verdict: Full refund, plus damages, AND we kept the furniture. The lawyer looked like a red & inflamed pimple, just about ready to burst and spray stuff everywhere.

A LOT of companies get away with bad business practices, because they rely on their customer's unwillingness or inability to exercise their rights. Costs about $80.00 to file, another $100.00 to "execute judgement" and we got a check for about $2500.00.

Just un-link the credit card from the account, and abandon the account. Paypal are a pack of ***** in my opinion, and I'd be happy to see them out of pocket - considering the number of accounts they freeze and steal money from, they can only expect it to happen to them.
Ordinarily I really wouldn't suggest that as the way forward, but given that you're dealing with a bunch of crooks, I think it's fair.

Thank you for all of the responses, I'm going to abandon the account.

"YEa you can always give up and start all over. Paypal are some D**ks but at the end of the day you can buy paypal accounts if you want. Just ask around"

In your case I think the worst that would happen is that your account would just stay negative that amount. Other than that I don't think the situation would get any worse and I don't think they'll take you to court over $600 as it's not that much money and would cost them more money to purse it legally than the amount they'd be going after.

I still have a bank acount connected and paypal isnt letting me remove it now. I want to abandon the account like you guys are saying but its a real account with real info and my personal bank account. What should I do? I dont want to lose my money for this.

Transfer funds and close the account immediately. Open another. As long as the account number is different you are safe. It's probable that in the fine print you've given them the ability to take whatever they want from your account. I had a friend that had given electronic permission to someone to take money from her account, and the Bank Manager said that the only way to be certain that they wouldn't suddenly raid your account one day is to close it and open another.

They do it all the time. It's a "cost of doing business" thing. You could also send a registered letter to PayPal, informing them that you intend to file charges with your local police department alleging theft of your money by the Buyer, with PayPal aiding and abetting in the crime. That will give their legal department something to chuckle over. It might also encourage them to drop your case and pretend it never happened. (The legal theory here is that the negative balance is a theft that has already taken place. It indicates your implicit acceptance of the debt to PayPal, without actually saying it out loud, but then it ties PayPal to the creation of the debt by their criminal behavior. The more they insist you owe them money, the more they confess their role in the crime. It's complete bullshit, but it will require someone other than the retard in the cubicle to sort out. Lol, you might even send a registered letter with a copy of the criminal complaint, roflmao... That would fuck up the "flow" of their whole day.
