Pay per Download?

Can anyone give me a simple explanation of how this works? Is all I have to is get people to download, and I get paid? Sorry guys I keep trying to search on here and I'm having a hard time figuring it out

yes, basically you signup for two or three PPD sites, they may pay you a few dollars per 1k visits, depending the country of the visitors and the site.
Then you upload to mega or any other fast hosting (google drive) your hot content (new releases usually, like games, music, movies) and then your mega/googledrive link is converted to a PPD link that will make you money.
If you make also a blog, twitter and youtube channel and post there every release, you can generate a lot of revenue from different sources using only the PPD links, but it takes a little of work to setup, but it's free.
An alternative for quick cash while you make your blog and grow your followers is to post your PPD links on gaming forums, social networks, fb groups, etc

I have been reading about this method for a few days and I would like to try it, there are many users who say that it is dead, I still want to try it. Could you recommend companies PPD that work today 2017?
