So as you can see, I've been on this forum for a while... just haven't contributed much in the way of methods and input. Just been sucking in a lof of information. I make majority of my money offline with doing websites, marketing "local" locally and doing some stuff in the iPhone App Market which has brought in a decent amount of cash. However, I'm getting into the CPA segment of IM and figured I'd chime in a little method that I've thought about.
There have been a lot of threads explaining how to go about it - but this is my take on how I plan to do my first round of what I call "Parking Lot Hustlin"...
Chances are, you have only a few (if not just one time) to promote your print collateral to a apartment parking lot. The reason I use apartment complexes is because I live in one and there are about 15 complexes within a mile of me and probably another 90 within 10 miles. I live near two decent sized colleges that fill up apartments all along the street I live on. (I'm literally 2 miles from a university.)
What I plan on doing is getting business cards printed rather than post cards - mostly because they're easy to put in a pocket rather than thrown on the ground... and even if they're thrown on the ground, they have a pretty good chance of getting picked up because of whats printed.
On the backside of the business card, I'm making it look like a few different ideas - Folded $100 bill, A "$1000 Gift Card", iPhone Photo or something that represents the offers available... on the other side will be some sales-ish copy (call to action if you will) with a URL - something to the lines of [City]FreeContests.c0m or something like that.
Since we only have a time or two to advertise on these cars - why not redirect them to a website where they can see 10 different "contests" or in our case "CPA offers" going at once? Instead of making that $1 per lead... you now have a chance of making $10 per person... Just get them to click on the link (open in new window) then do the next and the next. They have a "better opportunity to win SOMETHING" and you now made more money by leads.
Not to mention if one of the CPA offers stops... you can easily change the website without having to reprint a ton of print collateral and have to change that you can no longer use.
As far as placement on the car - I will try to avoid windshield wipers as that takes to damn long and suspicious looking at night. I am planning on placing the business card stuck in the window jam close to the door handle making sure the "cash side" or giftcard print is facing up. It's a quick grab of the card.. then in the car.
Hope this helps some of you get started!
Please feel free to thank me or add more ideas to this thread! By contributing, we all help each other grow.
