Thanks for the support everyone, remember shoot me your messenger contact in your pm's so we can link up and chat a bit about this.

I am interested in something like this, but only with a small group of serious and reputable people or people who are already in the music industry or have contacts in it located in the UK/USA/Canada preferably for legal reasons. If any reputable people are possibly interested in getting in on this with a group of only 3-5 members, please send GreenGoblin a PM and let him know.

hehe, I will love to be part of it :)

Iam in between some big projects now, may be we should speak on skype sometime and work out a plan.

great idea

we could promote CrazyEarner he has the voice of a angel i hear :o

I've always wondered what kind of push you could get for say $500 or so..

I mean it's 100 gigs on fiverr and imagine you ask them to publish it at 6-7-8 o'clock American time, I'd figure it might drive some traffic and perhaps make stuff go viral.

Cus I've seen people advertising that they will share it with 20k friends, or in a group with 100-200k members or 60k twitter followers.

hey dude, nothing wrong with us aussies, either!

EDIT: anyway, i don't have any 'contacts' in the music business.. i can get music on radio stations here, i'll get stuff in the local music papers, etc...

it really isn't that hard to do.

it only takes one person to like a song, and then tell their friends about it!

You are right. I got nothing against anyone who I can sue and have my country and your country come to diplomatic resolutions over legal matters and extradite you should you commit a crime against me haha. Also, somewhere I can fly to and kick you in the teeth and feel safe about it should you ever try to rip me off. I have nothing against anyone from any country, but I want to me sure my country and your country are friendly enough in legal matters.

i seriously just read that about 20 times, and don't know how to take it. i've been awake for 2 days drinking piss, and i'm trying not to get revved up... like i said, i'll repy later :-)

but.. on another note... and on my own accord, i just want to say, our country is getting taken advantage of, screwed over, and i want to kill everyone.

EDIT no. 2 - i also don't like our military fighting other people's bullshit 'wars'. we would be very happy on our own. and not with you. (but i'm still goin' to vegas, lol)

Few Questions for you GG:

GG, What city are you in?

And has the lawyer you hooked up handled or brokered any artist contracts yet?

And what genre are you trying to do this for?

Also, if I may add, you may want to look at doing more of a "production compnay" then say a "record label".

It'll be easier to say, build up an artists career and THEN sell it to a label once you get enough buzz for them. (ala Justin Beiber, etc.)

Or, maybe start up a management company, or get into promotions and start a promotion company geared specifically towards record companys.

Its not that easy to start a record company anymore unless you have BOTH:

A. Hundreds of thousand to Millions in Capital
B. Connects and relationships (YOUR relationships, not through a third party).

Those are two basic rules, and everything else falls inbetween those two.

You might want to look at management, vs. say, building a record company. It would be a faster turnaround for you, IF you have an artist a record label (the BIG THREE as they are called) would actually take interest in.

But yeah, just wanted to add my two cents in that!

Oh, one more thing; Get your ass to LA, New York, Atlanta or nashville (if your doing country). If your in europe, I think thats Londen or sweaden, but since I don't live there I can't tell.

But yeah, 90% of your time will be spent networking. So be prepared.

I've got audio engineering skills. I'm down to help however I can if anyone's interested.

SSL,

Where in Atlanta do you work? What genre do you mostly work in? (you can PM me if you don't want that out in the open)

I produce, BTW. Let me know....

Also, GG, hit me up if you need anything, or want to network further. Forgot to put that in my original post!

good insight yea these things I already know but thanks for refreshing it, my attorneys are one of the best in the business ranked 46 in the world, that's one thing I can say is when i hire attorneys i go all out for that, because u can't hire just anyone for this type of job, and i def agree on the management vs label however we will see how it all plays out at the end.

Thanks again

I think you should keep it in flavor of IM/computer/internet and get a geek squad to rep like beastie boys style. Build their name all over the net and create an internet sensation. You wouldn't need anyone with their foot in the door at any record label because you'd have the labels trying to get their foot in your door. Flip mode style!

Create a company they contract with, find the talent and then get them to record a few videos where your company that has exclusive 100% rights to those videos. Get a contract that says they owe a total of 8 songs, studio recorded at the companies expense as payment for making them famous. Then you sell those songs on iTunes and your company get 100% of profits from it. They get famous and probably a record deal or they can just use your company to promote their tour and then sign to a real label for their second album.

Money in the bank baby... There was a site back in the day, internetdj.com, that allowed electronica producers to upload their songs, get feed back and ratings for their music. They then found the best 12 or so songs for that year and put them on a CD. Not sure what kind of kick backs the artists got but that sites owner doesn't have close to the traffic flow power that we at BHW have.

Wish I have the time to invest into a project like this.. it seems like it would be a killer thing to do as the company could find and make popular 1 new artist per year and easily turn it into a million dollar company!

Basically the "Record Label" is just a working title to give people the basics of what we would be trying to achieve here. Bottom line, if people are passionate about music + making lots of money, they should send a PM to GG and see if the attitudes mesh together well. There are so many different avenues that can be taken for a project like this, and there is no business plan set in stone yet.

Several of us have been planning something like this for a while so we have a ton of ideas brainstorming and after we come up with a list of reputable people and see what the perfect team would be, we can all throw ideas at each other and come up with a real business model and begin.

It will take a bit of dedication and some faith, but if we all put our heads together and take the best ideas from everyone and throw away the junk, we can do this. Nobody is signing there life away at this point, so like I said, if you think this MAY be something you can be passionate about and you are ready to act professionally and actually take your first steps to a possible monster success, send GG a PM with some of your info and take it from there.

Word to the wise: This isn't a free ride. You aren't going to get rich doing nothing. You may lose money. You will probably lose sleep. You probably shouldn't be under 18 for legal reasons. You should really understand this is gonna get real. Are you prepared to take a shower, shave your beard, put on your nicest clothes and walk into a meeting with people who control the music industry and show them your poker face?

It may not come down to that at all. But are you ready if it does?
