One year to success!

Hey all,

Long time lurker here. Let me tell you a story.

I hate my job. It is probably the worst part of my life. The upside is the money is great, it provides my family with a nice life.

With covid it has become more stressful, wearing a mask and PPE all day while trying to manage agitated patients ... Just to much.

So what do I do.

I make a plan with my wife that in theory will give me one year to work from home building and creating.

I have worked IT before getting in to nursing. I did web design since middle school as a hobby. Love the idea of copywriting. I can Photoshop, animate and edit video. I can also code a little, or at least hack together code to get what I want done.

My wife and i started a small neich community center irl that helps pay the bills. This has a big network to tap into.

So my question, if you had my skills and one year to go full force to create an online income what would you focus on? My goal is min $2000 a month after taxes.

That's pretty achievable figure in an years time if you stick to it!

Thanks for the encouragement. The hardest part is taking the leap right now. But my worst case scenario is just going back to what I am doing now ... it has good days at timea

Definitely possible. Target the right clients and you're set for life.

You can surely achieve this. Good luck.

My honest advice is to try and do both. Your job and IT projects. It will be hard but simply buckle up and do it. If IT project goes well, simply quit daily job down the road and if not, you will have something that puts food to the table.

Thanks for the input, we have a few other revenue streams that will help to cover our expenses. I have tried to do both, and it seems between my day job and family time progress in the digital comes in fits and spurts. I am hoping this year will give me what I need to build a really solid foundation so that nursing can be my side hustle if necessary and not my full time. It is mentally and physically taxing. And it has strained my health.

the creation of content, writing, art, video, making all of that stuff has been a life long passion and I feel more confident in this realm than I ever have with medical.

I am not sure how I want to approach this I have so many ideas, I plan on narrowing down and focusing on over the next couple months before the leap so I know what path is most viable.

Yea, if you have family there it can be quite stressful to achieve everything, and have decent family time. Also I guess nursery is physically exhausting job too....
