Hello,

I recently signed up on the website and am really loving the place. Went through a lot of journey's of different people and was amazed by the way everyone comes together with the person and helps him reach the goals set by him.

About me: So, I am a newbie to Amazon. Have never purchased anything through them or sold anything. I am from India and mostly use Flipkart. But I have read the various threads here on BHW and have seen how many have worked up on their Amazon businesses. I currently have a website that gives me about $150 from Adsense every day and I am also focusing on scaling it up. I am looking for alternate sources of passive income and hence, I am going to try and build an Amazon business from scratch.

Tools: I will try my level best to use ONLY tools that are free for all so that this journey is useful to those who have no investment at all to work with.
However, if things are not working well after a reasonable time, I may look into paid tools suggested by the experts on BHW. But I will try as much as possible to do it without paying any money.

GOAL: I have heard that effective goals have these qualities (Challenging, Attainable, Measurable and Time bound). So, today I set a goal for myself that I will be earning $2500 per month by March 2016. I think this is challenging yet attainable, is measurable and is time bound. If you guys think this is too easy or too difficult, do suggest any changes.

I am sure the support of you guys will keep me on track.

Gist of the Method I will be using: I will be using one NON-EMD site. I will select 8-10 different niches to begin with. I will write at least 1 review or normal article every day in one of the selected niches.

So, best of luck to me :D

Bought a domain, set up a wordpress website quickly. Have not yet optimized the plugins as I believe content comes first.

Signed up with Amazon as an affiliate. Wrote my first review article of 400 words.

Put affiliate link twice in the content. Added an image with affiliate link and added a call to action button at the end of the review.

After giving some thought to this, I have decided to have one site for a particular niche instead of having multiple niches in a site.

Have put the previous site on backburner. Will buy a new domain tomorrow and start over to create a micro niche authority site.

400 words sounds a bit too low to me, it may look low quality. Pillar articles with Top bla bla rank better.

Perfect. Seems like so many are focusing on optimizing the site to the max to receive the best results but got none or just a few articles on their site. The design is easily changeable whenever, the age is not. Age plays a big factor (from my experiences) in todays rankings so that is the top 1 priority when starting a site - get as much content on it as you possibly can, in the fastest amount of time you can.

Anyhow, you seem to have the basic plan set down. Remember to stay motivated during these first months - one you're done with them you'll thank yourself for sticking through them. Best of luck with your journey! :)

Ambitious goals OP. I hope you can achieve the results you are looking for within the desired time-frame, but even if it takes a few months longer - I'm sure you'd still be happy. Good luck!

True.

It's better to have ambitious targets and fail than to have low targets and succeed.

Also, I have now decided not to limit myself to one website. I received some very good advice in PM and after reading some threads here, I now believe multiple highly focused niche sites with enough traffic but low competition and products worth over $100 are the key.

Now, need to define the ENOUGH and LOW and I am all set. :)
