Noob restrictions! Minimum Posts to Open New Thread

I have an idea. Another forum that I frequent as a header on each post that tells gives out warnings and related info. For example:

Before you post:

1. Have your searched the forum?
2. Have you read the stickies?
3. ...some other question...

If you have done those things, go ahead with your post.
Remember: We will not hold your hand! So remember that before you post.

Basically, that's about it. But, that may only work if people actually read it.

I am a newbie, or so my status says. I have a couple of things I would like to say about this.

1. I agree with the dumb questions that have been asked a thousand times. I honestly think anyone that starts a new thread relating anything to "how do I make x amount of many in x days" should just have the hammer dropped on them, I honestly do not believe they have the drive to do anything with this forum or internet marketing, and furthermore I don't know how they found this forum(JK).

2. I also think it should be more of a requirement that people posting threads should be able to speak or write english. I can't stand reading a good thread about an idea and then trying to read some broken english that I can not understand at all.

3. There should also be a number of days required before you can start a new thread, unless you are offering software or something of that nature. I have seen threads by newbies, that are not really newbies that are offering something valuable to the community.

4. I love BHW and really think that people should respect the help that you can receive here for FREE and not fuck it up by starting a thread with "I am a lazy mother fucker that does not want to read, so if you could tell me how to make money step by step that would be great and I would not have the descency to thank you for it and probably won't even try it because I am so fucking lazy.

For the women of bhw which I just recently learned there were so many, I apologize for my foul language, I have had a few drinks and it flows freely.

BHW Rocks quit fucking it up, I vote YES!!!

I think it will increase "spam" in other thread too...
But if they (we ^^) can start new thread in only few part as the introduction one and a "newbee" one, it can be nice imho

I voted 'yes' as I think it will also help to limit the number of leachers that only come to BHW to request if someone can find a software or ebook for them.

I'm in total agreement with a limit on new people starting threads. We'll see a greater concentration of high quality threads, and it'll take them longer to get pushed off page 1 by "need to learn seo please help" or "what is backlinks?" threads, thus giving them longer exposure for experienced members to make their valuable input.

I think it is a fantastic idea but unfortunately I also think it is unworkable. Minimum number of posts will just increase worthless replies in other threads as has been stated and a minimum number of days will just get people frustrated and they will leave. I have been on forums that implement similar things and then have very low members because, who wants to wait around for days to ask a question.

My idea, we need more Snow White wit to keep the whipper snappers in their place

I vote yes. Download Section Should be off limit to people that have not been at the site for 30 days. IMO.

Bumping this up cause I was gonna post a very similar thread....but I did a search first!
I have to agree with the OP about a minimum post count before being able to open threads. Perhaps even a minimum amount of time as a member.
I also agree with some that say not all newbies are new to IM and could contribute significantly to the forum from day one. But if they wanna contribute...then do so in threads already posted until they get past the minimum.
Also noted are the comments about people inflating their post count with worthless posts.....but that shit happens anyway by people trying to get their posts up to get into the CS section or jr vip.
I don't think it would put more pressure on the awesome mods here cause there are so many worthless threads started everyday. I'm sure they check to see if its in the appropriate section and shake their head in disgust as I do at the same question thats been ask so many times over.
As I'm writing this I came up with the idea of having a particular section of the forum that these worthless threads could be dumped into.
I'm not sure how much effort it takes on the mods part to move a thread....but just off the top of my head I'm thinking if a thread is reported as worthless and deemed so by the mods. Then dump it in the T.D.L.T.S. section of the forum.
Thats the Too Damn Lazy To Search section!
Let members still post answers and useful info as well as flame and berate a little and teach a lesson. Perhaps post count don't increase in this section either.
Well its near 7am here and I'm on my 18th beer and am through ranting.....but I do hope this issue is addressed as its been ongoing since I was a noob and started those stupid fucking threads myself.

this forum really need more restrictions it's amnazing how much threads about xrumer , autoplig , how to make money are there , and must be increased also the minimum number of chars per posts also add on spam or some auto delete posts with thank you

Would be good to lock them into "training" forums for a while maybe so all the crap threads go in one place not all places

You could maybe even monitor a bit so they are unleashed after they at least know some stuff.

New members should maybe be forced to read posts like the noobie FAQ type posts from ppl like harro. I am far from a guru in regards to a lot of stuff but due to the recession there has been a ton of irritating threads (even more irritating than mine lol).

Just my opinion hope it helps.

I think this is a great idea. Lord knows I would have loved a little more direction when I first got here. Also teach them how to use our painfully difficult search feature. Make them read the rules for using virus total and code as well. I think a time frame and number of posts is important at the very least. It would help save a few members from some of the spam viruses I have seen coming from one time posters.

I voted no because as a lot of you have already mentioned, it'll just increase spam posts on other threads.

Re the search feature, it is actually not very useful (at least not for me). Google's search results are 1000x times better and more accurate when I'm looking for something specific. i.e. "keyword site:blackhatworld.com." Instead of just telling noobs to use the search feature, how about teaching them to use Google?

And allowing noobs to only post in the noob sub-forum for the first X days is not a bad idea. Let's say 30 days? After 30 days, they can post in other forums. Of course, they can still view all other forums, just that they can't post in them.

This noob sub-forum would have all the most basics questions answered like acronyms (WHAT IS CPA??? WHAT IS CL??), common questions (WHAT IS BLANK REFERRER VS. FAKE REFERRER?), which methods are noob friendly & requires zero upfront cost, what's the best free host to use etc. and have them all stickied. More experienced members can help out noobs all in one place.

If they're not an actual "noob" they could talk to a mod (maybe the noob sub-forum mod?) to get that restriction lifted.

No this is not a good idea. It will increase useless spam.

In my opinion, the best solution would be to open a noob-only section to ask all the noob questions, and after 15 days you can post a real thread.

10-15 post minimum, and no topic creation within the first 48 hours.

This way, when they make their dumb little spam replies, they cant just do it all in 20 minutes and make their topic anyway.

I agree, minimum of atleast 25 posts+ limits must be set..

A lot of n00bs are posting fu**in silly questions instead of using the nicey nice search function we have here, so let them make sum sensible fuckin' posts and understand what is BHW and then create some new threds.

How about raising the minimum character limit? Like something around 25 characters/post minimum? That would help a bit in reducing the fuckin' spam maybe?
