Ok 2 quick questions for all you gurus out there...

1. is it against Google terms/policy in any way to make it to where a customer clicks the browser back button the page they are on refreshes an image or something stupid small under 10kb so that the entire page does not reload but the user is unable to go back to google search LOL.

2. If there is nothing against their terms in doing this, oh hell even if it is... how is this best accomplished.

Example: User comes to site example, com from Google then trys to click back button on browser and just some 10kb widget reloads on the page. However If a user comes in from Google to main page example.com then goes to inner page example,com/woot and then clicks back it will allow them to go back to example,com...

Testies Testies 12?

1) i think its not illigal probally ethical, what you do need to take into contxt is if the google bot is going througth the site and gets stuck it could be flagged

2) maybe a guru can shed more light

I am not sure about this one. A guru will defiantly know. Did you try googling it lol?

I did G it (however tons of examples kinda overwhelming) the reason for asking is I think (non-educated guess mind you) this may have a BIG weight on google SERPS now as a site for A LOT of high competition keyword searches is using this tactic and they have been able to hit #1 in all of the terms I am searching in a niche. Yet their back linking is extremely week and the site is total bullshi$$. So I thought to my self... self I wounder if G is giving them a bonus as G thinks no one really goes back after visiting the page, it must be good. hmmm

When you click a link that goes to a page, that page knows from where the user comes to it but normally doesn't know two pages behind if there is a pass from a domain to another. Anyway this scenario can be solved using different techniques but maybe Google doesn't care to much about this.

I did notice that when I went to the site and clicked the back button all of a sudden there was 3 instances of the site when I hovered the browser back button... how would they be doing that?
