hi,

i have 2 sites: 1 parked with no content and no inlinks - index page (the only page) showing just the name of the domain and the domain name also appears in the title. the homepage got PR2 within weeks (the domain is approx. 5 month old) with no visitors coming in at all..

site 2: blog that ranks very high for its keywords, lots of relevant posts, few inlinks, nice amount of daily visitors, the domain is approx. 6 month old - but no PR at all?

is putting your domain name in the title and body so important?

also, does this mean google no longer updates PR on a regular basis, it awards to each site individualy?

thanks

Pr updates are done on a 3-6month basis.

You PR2 must of been prevoiusly worked on or old unless you have a strong blacklink somewehre.

Site 2, you need relevant backlinks and PR isnt everything... if you have daily visitors and nice inlinks what do you need a PR for? you have the traffic already coming in.

Tbh Pr is very over rated as not key for whitehat/blackhat/seo rankings. Its just a number to get a gen trust/relevance of a website.

Hope that helps

I wouldnt go as for to say that "PR is very over rated as not key for whitehat/blackhat/seo rankings."

You make a valid point, volume of hits and daily visitors are important.. But with those two combinations your PR will skyrocket (or it should if you do your homework)..

Community building is essential. Build for your main niche and use keyword phrases and keywords for redirecting... I would also cybersquat for expired domains for your niche..

The list goes on and on, but to make money online PR is irrelevant.. SEO RANKING? > Definatly some relevance..

Submit articles, press releases, obsurd statements, rumors, make things up, photoshop a picture, do whatever you have to do..

Remember paris hiltons sex vid?!?!?!? :)

This industry is a cut-throat business, it takes greed, booksmarts, streetsmarts and logical thinking with a spike of liberalism..

Best of luck to all

i thk you got a strong backlink somewhere.
if i were you i will start developing the site instead of wondering why i am having a PR-2
develop the site dude.

i'm gonna develop the site, but it has no real backlinks (just a few forum posts i made) -nothing to link to!
My only conclusion is that putting your domain name in the title and in the body text is crucial for getting quick PR!!!
