Hello everyone, I'm trying to start my own website. I wasn't able to find any threads here for complete newbies. Can someone explain the basics as if I'm 5? Or link the articles? I would appreciate it a lot.

depend on what you would like to build. for wordpress tutorial you can search wpbegginer or search on youtube for ferdykorp

What exactly do you need help with?
Do you need help setting up and designing the website? Or want to learn how to research and write content?
Or how to do SEO?
What would be the process of creating a blog about motivation? Do I buy domain and connect it to wordpress? How can I organically grow it?

You can get all the information on google.
But just for a start, you can buy a domain name which is relevant to your niche, buy a web hosting, connect that domain to your web hosting, install WordPress.
Buy a web hosting preferably with Cpanel.
Then you will need yo design your blog according to your niche, you can take inspiration from other website in your niche.
YouTube will also help you design your website.
There are in depth tutorial available on how to build a website.
Next step will be putting content on your website.
But before you go ahead and put any content on your website, i highly recommend you learn basic SEO.
You can learn the basics from Ahrefs' YouTube channel.
After that you will start to get a clear picture of where you need to go next.

Most importantly, before you start this. Think about how you are going to monetize this website.

Good video that can help out
I used it myself to learn

Since you are 5, are you looking for some link to "COMPLAN" on Amazon or eBay. I can surely help you with that :-D :-D :-D

Use search bar and you will get plethora of guides here, this is home of knowledge by gurus of IM.

On a serious node, you need to post this thread in web-design section. So you'll get help form expert programmers.

Given that you’re just starting out, you will probably want to test the waters first, right? No need to blindly throw your money away. I recommend trying WordPress’s free package. It’s simple enough so that anyone can use it and if you do end up liking the way it looks and feels, you can purchase a domain and install WP there. You can even migrate your old (free) site to a paid one. You can find plenty of tutorials on doing that online, but I shouldn’t post any links here.
