Hi, i just bought a new domain (i thought), when i started working on it, noticed that it had a DA of 14 and Home page auth. of 28. Went to majestic and saw that it was actually a local businesses previous website. Backlinks all look ok. They are from decent directories and sites.

In majestic it says "NameResolutionFailure" for the crawl status.

Is that bad or just because it hasn't been live and crawled in a while?

I built the foundation of the site and submitted the sitemaps on Thursday. Been about 35 hrs but still haven't been indexed.

How long does it usually take?

I see that home url in indexed in google.

This is my first website.

Did i screw my self?

It will take upto 1 week for google to index your website and the home url will get replaced with your current homepage content. Just submit your sitemap one more time to google.

Yeah indexing can take up to a week, I sometimes knew to get indexed in 12 hours and sometimes 8 days

The website was down so that's why majestic is showing that.

Just wait a bit and it will change.

Did i screw my self?
Check your hand for fluid of suspicious origin. If there's mysterious fluid on your hand, then you have most likely screwed yourself.

Majestic needs to be able to crawl the site to get data on it, so since the site wasn't live prior to your purchase, they couldn't get the data they were looking for.

Just continue doing what you were doing in the Search Console (Webmaster Tools), use the Fetch as Google tool, give Google some time to finish indexing the site and you should be fine. :)

Hilarious ;)

Will do. Just wanted to make sure. Didn't want to spend a ton of time on this site if it wouldnt get indexed.

Thanks guy.

When ur new and you see something that you dont recognize, you start panicking...

Because this is an expired domain, do i still need to be careful for the first 30 days or can start build backlinks as usually?

Dont worry, get your website build and start adding backlinks..

Majestic is in no way an indicator if you screwed your self up. Google indexed you, so don't worry about majestic and the like. They dont have the same server power as Google :)

I am not too optimistic in indexing period. As far I as I know, it took up to 6 months, if you had got a "second hand" domain name.

Google has indexed 6 of the 12 pages. Sittin at a stand for 5 days now.

Building some backlinks and drip feeding social signals.

Hopefully they get moving and index soon.

They've indexed all other pages even the privacy and disclosure, and the top page with like 2 sentences.

But not the actual inner money pages.

Google whyyy??

The suspense is killin me. :(

I have an outbound link on the home page to wiki but not the inners.
The inners just link to the top and home.

Would it help to add an outbound link to the inner? Any problem if i link all inners to the same wiki page?
