New referring domains

How much of a factor (for Google) are new referring domains on daily basis. What I mean is that when I look at the backlink profile of pretty much any big authority website the first thing you will notice (on ahrefs for example) is that they have 4/5/6/7+ new referring domains per day! How important is that to Google?

I know, i know. At the end of the day it only matter how strong each of those backlinks is individually, but still I wanted to hear other peoples opinion about this matter.

You're referring to link velocity. If you build a new site and blast it with 10,000 links for 1 week and then the site never gets another backlink, it doesn't look natural especially when the link profile is poor and the links aren't supported by any significant amount of traffic.

So a site that is receiving slow and steady backlinks should outrank a site that had a big hit of links and then nothing.
