can someone tell me whats the point of these services? i believe i read from some SEO book that submitting to search engines is a waste of time

Yeah, not free anymore. I quit using it. Using instead a desktop mass url pinging tool posted on this forum which is a bit buggy at times. If anybody knows of any free online mass url pinging tool, please let's us know. Thanks.

Do you really think anyone will complete the offer to be able to ping his site since there are so many similar and even better tools out there? Why not add ads or something else?

I hope that many people continue to believe this.
All I am willing to say at this point it is that you can not believe everything that you read.
I think that some people just slam thousands of links and they don't see the results, therefore, it does not work.
I have been using TE, SEC and so on for quite a while (on and off) and have seen all kinds of ideas passed off as gospel.
Hint: think about your SE that you are targeting and what it "likes" then tailor your plan accordingly.
Back to the grind.....I am pumping out multiple CPA/CB sites (among some others) and check in here for little breaks.

There was a free automated one which checked your site and pinged changes that was recommended here a long time ago I could never remember the name of it.
Does anyone know it?
