    Hi there,

    I am busy making a new Hide HTTP Referer tool on referer.us

    I need people test my new tool before public release, since it's totally free, so I cannot reward everyone helps.

    I will reward you ONLY when you:
    1: fully test the tool at platform other than windows 2000, XP and browser other than IE6, IE7, Firefox and Opera, too see if HTTP Referer get successfully removed.
    or 2: Find a big bug

    (reward by paypal)

    If you interested on reward or interested on my tool of hide http-referer, keep reading:

    [IMG]

    Tool url: http://referer.us/

    The tool is for remove http-referer, send your visitor to a website with a http-referer, it means, the website cannot know where the visit from by http referer. It's great for affilite etc. Anyhow, as here is Black Hat World, so I won't explain more why you need hide http-referer.

    Here how it works:

    Example: if you link (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=black+hat+world&meta=) at your page, there will be http referer that google knows where the visit from.

    Here if you cloak the url by my tool and make the url looks like this:

    http://referer.us/www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=black+hat+world&meta=
    then will no more referer that google can trace.

    Test link: http://referer.us/referer.us/
    (this link will bring you to my tool, and no-referer)

    (Update Aug 18, Fake HTTP Referer supported)

    Please post your questions, comments, feedbacks and BUG you found below.

    Hello,

    Testing procedure:
    Tested all links on the following pages:

    ref.php:
    Code:
    <b>Referer:</b> <?php echo $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']; ?>
    <br>
    <?PHP

    if (!isset($_REQUEST['usepost'])){
    ?>

    <b>Data from GET string:</b> <?PHP echo $_REQUEST['data']; ?>
    <br>
    <?PHP
    } else {
    ?>
    <b>Post var:</b> <?PHP echo $_REQUEST['postdata']; ?>

    <?PHP
    }
    ?>

    link.php:
    Code:
    <h1>Get String test:</h1>
    <a href="ref.php?data=test">Without referer.us</a><br>
    <a href="http://referer.us/www.scriptamp.com/ref.php?data=test">With referer.us</a>
    <br><hr><br>
    <h1>POST form test:</h1>
    Without referer.us:<br>
    <form action="ref.php?usepost=true" METHOD="POST">
    <input type=text name=postdata value="Post text test">
    <input type=submit>
    </form>
    <br>
    With referer.us:<br>
    <form action="http://referer.us/www.scriptamp.com/ref.php?usepost=true" METHOD="POST">
    <input type=text name=postdata value="Post text test">
    <input type=submit>
    </form>

    I tested on:
    Windows Mobile 6
    Blackberry 8330
    Vista with IE8
    iPhone 3.0
    Firefox on XP with Javascript disabled

    All worked exactly the same for GET strings, but it seems the referer hider doesn't pass on POST vars (something that could be done with cURL.

    Also, it might be nice to be allowed to fake the referer (which can also be done using cURL). For example referer.us/?fakeref=www.google.com/ig&pagetogoto=www.yahoo.com

    Google Analytics provides an easy way to track clicks on links that lead away from your site. Because these links do not lead to a page on your site containing the UTM JavaScript, you will need to tag the link itself. This piece of JavaScript assigns a pageview to any click on a link - the pageview is attributed to the filename you specify.

    For example, to log every click on a particular link to www.wherever.com as a pageview for "/outgoing/wherever_com" you would add the following attribute to the link's tag:

    Code:
    <a href="http://referer.us/www.wherever.com" onClick="javascript: pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/wherever.com');">
    To verify that _trackPageviewis being called correctly, you can check your Top Content report 24-48 hours after the updated tracking code has been executed. You should be able to see the assigned pagename in your report.

    Now talk about problem:

    1. fake referer, it cannot done on client site, if fake referer at server side, the IP changed :( so, no good idea for now
    2. about form Post. very cool, I am not think about this before, but I can do this. I will write another message here when POST method get support and you have to test again.

    POST is not a problem any more, now referer.us support POST on both encoding type (enctype) "application/x-www-form-urlencoded" (normal mode) and "multipart/form-data" (use for submit files).

    I also make a test tool on http://referer.us/http-referer-test.html
    you can try it in different browsers and platforms.

    Hello,

    POST does not seem to work with the Blackberry 8330 (http://www.scriptamp.com/link.php) nor Windows Mobile 6.

    On Blackberry, the POST vars simply aren't passed to the page.
    On Windows Mobile 6, the page doesn't even load (it remains at referer.us/www.scriptamp.com/ref.php?usepost=true)

    ok, here is how POST works, it needs:

    JavaScript (to resubmit the form, otherwise I can make button and let visitor click,.... no no no, that's not a good idea) if no JavaScript, will meta refresh and no POST vars.

    except JS, it also need iFrame, otherwise normal submit will still pass referer.

    ok, seems the POST works on PC but not mobile, I will try some another way for mobile :(

    Thank you for feedback.

    Why would someone offer us free hide our referrer tools?

    How do the developers of such receive compensation for all their hard work?

    1) Gain intelligence where your traffic is coming from
    2) Possibly insert their links into common offers(not saying you will do this but many link shortening services have been found out for doing it)

    Wow great! However, do you have a plan to change the domain name? the referrer name would make people think they will become my downline and some think it is a referral program.

    Anyway, this is the best referer I have ever seen! Keep it up!

    Thanks everyone.

    1st thing 1st. Please test the tool in every platforms and every browsers, I need feedback

    .. hard to say, I think http://referer.us/something... looks good
    if you have another name suggestion, and.. the name is available, I will think about it.

    Another idea about domain is: my tool is located on a dedicated IP address, so you can point your own domain on it and use your own domain for no-referer redirect, howevery, that cannot work on HTTPS

    Currently IP is 67.228.161.238, basicly, it very unlikely need to be change. I will seriously think about this bind your own domain strategy, and if I decided go public, I have to make a maillist and make me easy to notify everyone if the IP need change.

    Thanks and gimme feedbacks
