Hi all, I was just reading in another seo forum that the new Google update will include PAID Google map listings with features to bump your listing to the top?

Here is quote from forum -

"New Google Update.... GMBs are going to be paid features and a lot of features will be pushing them to top... Part of the Core update..."


Can anyone verify?

We too read this but we have not been able to get any confirmation from google on this so far. Tried to message in google local support as well but nothing substantial we could get for now.

I haven't found anything official on paid listings yet, but several sources I trust are talking about it.

well they did roll out map pack ad placements

Paid GMB's aren't the bane of it all though and google is focused heavily on organic results for queries so likely there would be some demarkation to mark them as sponsored. Who knows, it's their platform and they can do whatever they want...
