I think my point is getting clouded, but it really boils down to the fact that for 30% of your profits Maker Studios is a horrific company to join UNLESS you're actually in LA. That being said, networks fully exist to make money, whether they want to admit it or not, they might seem like they have your best interests at heart, but they do not. Becoming a full partner on your own, (which is still possible), is much better than joining any network, unless you are some big fish that would actually actually obtain direct ad buys through networks.
Sorry, i didn't mean to cloud your point. Yes, i agree that joining Maker would be a bad idea unless you live in LA which i have stated in my original post. I just happen to live in LA and am a fully branded independent partner with YouTube. However, i feel that the benefits that Maker would provide me with my channel would allow me to produce more high quality content as am i doing at a faster rate. Thus potentially gaining more then the 30% they would be taking from me if i continue to go solo. Now this doesn't apply to everyone but it's good to know your options. You should also be aiming to become a "big fish" before considering them as well. Even if you live in LA, that doesn't mean anything except that you could potentially have access to their studio/produce your videos. I find that my channel has huge potential and they will be more than happy to welcome me.
Are you by any chance going to VidCon? Saturday morning all the YouTube networks are having a big conference meeting to explain their networks and their benefits.
I heard TGN offers a 80% payout now but there site is down lol, does anyone know anything about it?

Yeah they do offer 80% and no cap on CPM. Except aren't they only accepting gaming-only videos?
Take the contract with the company that has the lowest split. I know Maker has 30/70 split by default, unless you lowered it down.
The company could make hundreds of thousand of dollars of ad sales but in the end of the day your split is the biggest impact.
