I see there's a common misconception where people have this idea that they will promote you. They don't.
Only join them in your live in LA, otherwise they are no different then any other network (besides Machnima, everyone's better then them)
Maker will not promote your shit, and your CPM and money produced is usually the same, I say usually because their ad sales are usually direct channel sales, like McDonalds wants ad on RWJ videos only for example.
If you want to see how your earning at Maker or any network will be, get the split (Maker is 70%) and time that by your current earnings without being in a network, because that's all you will get unless your a big ass fish.
P.S. this is all coming from a person who's been in many networks and has his own CMS network, and passed Math class.
I'm sorry but a lot of that is totally wrong. You can't simply multiply your current earnings by 0.70 to find out what you would be getting at maker or anywhere else. These guys work with Youtubes sales team to get some of the best ad deals (behind Machinima), they're not simply direct ad buys. I agree that maker will not promote anything for you, but I don't think you should expect to get promotion from joining any network - that's something you should do yourself. You say Machinima is the worst network? I would love to hear why as they always pay on time and offer a decent flat rate CPM incl. mobile views, much better than Broadbandtv and any of their sub networks.
Oh and having a CMS is totally different from running a network - networks have their own rep at Google and get the premium ads.

TGS are ok but some bad reviews about - yeousch are a sub network of Fullscreen and i know for a fact partners get less than 25% of the revenue they generate with yeousch.

Trust me, go with Curse - they offer a guaranteed $3 CPM (you will not get paid that at any other network) and you can leave at any time you want (again, most networks tie you down for 2-3 years).
They are by far the best network around, it's no wonder Machinima+Google tried to take them down!
Lol, that's ESTIMATED earnings. That huge spike also indicates some sort of view bot has been used. I guarantee you won't receive anywhere near that amount, I've seen it all before
I do not meet the requirements for curse, as i have 2.9K subscribers. Also they lock you in a certain CPM. I believe its bad.
Not at all. A $3 CPM is a great to be locked into as you will not receive anywhere near that amount at another network unless you are really lucky. You can also leave it at anytime so it's not that bad. It's a shame that you don't meet the requirements mate, have you thought about joining base79?

I've received a minimum of $5 CPM since setting veos up in march.
Also that 'hugh spike' actually relates the frequency of the adverts. It means the advert was just used more for some reason. It's really common.

Most if not all ad sales are direct ad buys for specific YouTube accounts.
And I'm not saying that they are obligated to promote you, I'm simply stating a fact that they don't.
Flat rate CPM is fundamentally the worst thing you can accept to, that's like accepting a penis size when your 5 years old that will never increase. That being said, YouTube provides a much higher forced CPM to networks based off quotas they meet. Machinima is big enough that these quotas surpass your highest expectations, them giving you 3-4 CPM is fucking trump change to their actual CPM they receive, not includng ad sales. Include ad sales [that affect all channels in the network] and they are rolling in numbers people would kill for.

A network is but a mere CMS account, the fact that they have employees and their agents, etc is just a feature that they themselves provide without being a requirement to be considered a network from YouTube. That being said, what is a requirement is having a company setup to obtain a CMS account and an idea to backup the need for CMS account, hence the term "Content Network" was born.
Networks do not have reps for them at YouTube, instead YouTube has a division within the Partner Program division that deals with ALL CMS related activities. and I've personally dealt with him when having my own CMS setup.
Frankly, your information seems like it was gathered from sources such as Yahoo Answers, or something of that nature. No offense. <3

Go to their Twitter and/or Facebook and see if they posted links to their "over 500 channels".
If you can collect even 100 different channels that they linked, I'll retract all my facts about Maker.

If you are partnered with them and ask for a tweet, they will re-tweet you. If you are a partner with them and they produced your content or had some type of involvement then they will tweet it themselves. Yeah it's not something they exactly offer but it's available. You have to be aggressive and take advantage of your resources, most people just sign up for a network and sit back/relax. They also offer other types of promotion via box for box, collabs, etc.

That's flawed and shouldn't be like that at all. They shouldn't offer promotion then just sit back and wait for you to ask them to promote you. Their job is to promote your content. What's the whole point of joining a network then if they take 30% of what you make and don't do shit unless you ask them to? That being said, 30% is outrageous fee for the service they provide. I can understand if it was 30% for people that have access to their studios, since warehouses aren't cheap to rent, but the fact that they have their default contract for 30% is fucking despicable.

What do you expect from a network with 500+ channels, not to say it should be like that but it is. They are also in the process of hiring a bunch of partner/community managers if you check their website. Not really trying to defend Makers or anything, this applies for most Networks. But with Maker being the largest with the most potential in providing the highest amount of promotion (based off the total combined subscriber fan base) then i would recommend Maker over any other networks if you live in the LA area as of now. But who knows, maybe the % of promotion from Maker can be also gained at Fullscreen if not more. Hard to tell since they are smaller and not yet as established. And that goes with any other networks in los angeles.
Yeah 30% sucks but YouTube closed down their open Partnership Program to push these networks. Anyone who wants more then just monetization enabled (branding features, custom thumbnails etc) will most likely need to go through a network now. (not to say everyone should go with Maker) I was fortunate enough to become a full partner back in 2010 when that wasn't required and don't necessarily need to go with a network now but due to the increased level of my production when producing my videos, i feel that i could definitely benefit from them under those circumstances.
I'll be at VidCon next weekend and speak with each of the Networks there to find out which is best for me (maybe Fullscreen offers me something better?) as well as attending the partner support meet up/open house that will be answering many questions and concerning issues. I'll be more than happy to share anything of interest.

I think my point is getting clouded, but it really boils down to the fact that for 30% of your profits Maker Studios is a horrific company to join UNLESS you're actually in LA. That being said, networks fully exist to make money, whether they want to admit it or not, they might seem like they have your best interests at heart, but they do not. Becoming a full partner on your own, (which is still possible), is much better than joining any network, unless you are some big fish that would actually actually obtain direct ad buys through networks.
