Negative SEO works

At the end of the day, its not OP's fault per se, google allowed negative seo, now every competitors who can't use their skills to out rank their competitors are now using the cheapest way to damage their competitors, I wouldn't do it, I prefer to do outrank my competitors without going through the extreme of damaging their site in the process.

Bad move OP in my opinion

100% true. Whether OP does it or not doesn't even matter, thousands are already getting away with it on a daily basis.

Give thanks to Google for making such things possible.

My guess is that Google will eventually reverse the impacts of negative SEO as many more victims come forward. It could be days or years, nobody really knows. But by that time Google may be a complete bid engine to appear on the first page and it may not matter how they use an algorithm to rank organic listings.

I don't get what all the outcry in this thread is about honestly. The name of the forum is Black Hat World and even though a lot of people in the forum seem like nice, decent, respectable folks it's dubbed "black hat seo" for a reason. Almost every technique we use in this forum is designed to trick Google into thinking our site is better than our competitors. How is what the OP did any different? He used negative SEO to trick Google into thinking his site was superior, same as everyone else here.

If he's some inhman monster because of this so is everyone who posted who has ever used a single black hat technique :D

I never liked the idea of negative SEO. I wouldn't want to do it because I wouldn't want others to do it to me.

It is NOT the same.

He didnt use negative seo to trick google that his site was superior but he used negative seo to trick google that his enemys site is worse than his. See the difference?

There is a huge difference between using tools to make the seo of your site easier and using tools to destroy your opponent.

Well at least some of us here are happy with the new algorythms...

THANKS GOOGLE!

Awesome thread! I practice negative seo for fun! I dont even do it cuz i make money with it. I just find it fun to act as some sort of website serial killer/sniper. Karma is a hilarious concept. Maybe i should be just as worried what jesus thinks about me? too funny....

How come all your good karma never gets you to the top of google? Maybe you guys should pick a different religion and try praying your way up there...

Well results speak louder than words I guess so:

Normal Black Hat SEO-
Your site gets a higher PR, you usurp the competition, and their traffic and income falls.

Negative SEO-
Your usurp the competition, the competition's traffic and income falls, the competition's PR falls.

The only difference is that your replace increasing your PR with decreasing theirs. In the end it's not really that different. Both ways you're destroying their SERP anyway. With Google being weird like it is though it actually may be more productive to do normal SEO, the effects of negative SEO could be undermined in any of the thousand updates Google will make in the next 4.5 seconds.

The website will also receive a penalty from Google making it incredibly hard to recover.

You can't compare bh seo to negative seo

you got your answer above.

Jesus people are idiots.

Get off your high horses. You are not internet marketers, 99% of you are spammers. You spam the web with endless rubbish in an effort to boost the rankings of your crappy websites offering more spam from Google for a few cents per impression. So few of you add real value to the web and you cost real website owners a fortune in anti spam measures and genuine advertising costs.

Your definitions of negative SEO are fucked if you think what we do is ethical. If spamming competitor websites with porn links works, Ill do it.

Yep...... or (maybe) you help your competitor with Linkbuilding :0

I think we need more negative SEO. Let us all break out our copies of SB and blast the world with porno links, take no prisoners, competitors and non-competitors alike, sort of a NSEO DNS strategy . Maybe then Google will realize how crappy their new algorithms truly are and we can force the world to use another Search Engine!

who gives a fuck this is business. survival of the fittest. interested in consulting for me? :)

I posted this in another thread about this subject but I figured I'd repeat it here as well:

I don't get why people say "if you do negative
SEO to someone else's site, they will do it back to yours". No they won't. First of all, there is no way they will know who hit them with negative SEO. What are they gonna do, unleash a giant negative campaign on every damn website that is targeting their keywords?

Second, some people won't even realize it was neg SEO in the first place that knocked them off. They may just attribute it to a Google change or something they did on their own.

As for me, I think it's a grey area with this stuff. If you have a pretty high quality site and focus on building quality links, and some asshole comes along with a shitty EMD 1-page Wordpress blog and outranks you (like what happened in OP's case), then I say blast his site to nowhere. However, I personally wouldn't do it to some guy who looks like he's trying to build up a quality site with a lot of good content and who is actually putting in the work.

And at the end of the day, I really don't see any difference between "ethically" outranking someone and stealing their income, and hitting them with negative SEO and stealing their income. The end result is the same either way is it not?

Negative SEO works. Unfortunately, doing negative seo is not really a good idea unless your website is making lots of money. Most website with medium competition keyword can make $10 to $20 a day if it is number 1. Unfortunately, it is much better to keep working on numerous sites than to do negative SEO cuz if you get stuck in one site, you will never make it in this business. Trust me, negative SEO is the least of our worries. Every year, google comes up with an animal that destroys all our income.

The best business model we can do for search engine or SERP money making is to try to make as much money with a lot of sites in a year and hope the animal does not bite all of the sites.

If you have time to do negative SEO then you obviously are not making enough in IM.

Neg SEO sux, buts it's a reality now... This thread reminded me of that.
