Negative SEO and behavioral factors

We develop an American website. From the beginning of December it has been visited by doubtful users (perhaps, bots). We had been initially thinking that it was a referral spam, but there were more and more users, and American IP were appeared. They move to the site using a direct link (whereas referral spammers goes from a specific resource promoted).

Further, they started to increase stay on site time. They currently spend 50 minutes there and periodically surf the pages. There are a lot of content on our website, but it is not able to be parsed with such speed, so it is not a parsing.

We have tried to ban their IP, but there is no any result. They continue to visit our site using other IP.

The question is whether it is possible to obtain a filter for those visits, because Google may think that we cheat behavioral factors.

It is clear there is a disavow links tool that allow to refuse the links. How can we let Google know that these are not our traffic cheats and we cannot limit them? What is more, it goes gradually. Those who do it are increasing every day stays on the site for a minute or two and look through more pages. Now this traffic is already 1/5 of all traffic on our website. It grows every day.

Never heard of any negative SEO attack using traffic that doesn't bounce. And I have seen no evidence that a non-bouncing bot would equate to negative SEO around here before.

Besides, if you have a new site with shit traffic and its just 1/5 of that low traffic it doesn't sound like THAT many bots. What are we talking about 5, 20, 50, 100?

Negative SEO doesn't work till your links are not connected to any spammy blog comments or any spammy gsa list.

What annoys me the most about negative SEO is it throws off all of the link profile checkers. Then I have to clean it every time I want a quick peek at a link report.

I really dont think it's Neg SEO. What do you mean by Direct link? No referral?

I honestly cant see how this would be a negative campaign in any way. They are not trying to take down the site with too many requests, they arent trying to link with porn anchors or anything, where is the malicious act here?

I've also had this same thing happen on a client's site recently, but as it doesn't seem to have had any negative impact in SERPs, I don't think it's really anything to worry about. Like you though, I'd be interested in an explanation all the same.

ahrefs allows you to upload the disavow file so you can take out all of the links on there from the stats and info.
