Hey BHW, long time lurker but this is one of my first important posts. I'm working with someone that makes medical prosthetic devices, so I definitely have my work cut out for me. I'm trying to get better traffic for the site, and in front of the right eyes. The site has little authority at this point and not much of a social following, what are the most effective ways to improve this with such a specialized niche?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

write original articles for the niche and make sure they are technically correct. I'd also invite people like doctors or other medical professionals to write a guest post for your blog. ( if you have one )
I'd also get google alerts for the niche to keep up to date with movements in your industry and join newsletters and facebook pages of manufacturers so you can get an idea for latest and future products.
Internet marketing is perception marketing - Even if you don't know much about it, pretend you do
Good luck

That is a specialty niche and a micro niche. That type of client usually has the budget for paid advertisements and he'll likely keep you if you get fast targeted traffic. Get a hold of an advertising campaign with Facebook, Google Adwords and Bing. I'm assuming you've an e-commerce site with a product line already set where the client is probably asking you upload his own medical products, decent amount of inventory and wants to attracts more local clients as well. Facebook and Google Adwords campaign, test the keywords and adjust a lot with Google Adwords. That type of clients shouldn't have a problem giving you a $500-$1,000 budget if you show him you understand what you're doing. Good client OP.

Yes very correct micro niche...Contrary to them needing to have such a budget they don't. They don't sell the product directly but instead refer to local medical professionals who would have to order the product, so it's not direct to consumer in that regard. The only thing we sell online is some swag and gear with company logo on it. He's more focused on clients wherever they are, not locally by any means as it's a special needs medical community. They don't give me close to either of those amounts (I wish!) but I do really enjoy working with them and really want to see them and help them succeed. Your feedback is much appreciated!

Hello,

I am a medical student currently looking for a part time writing job. I would like to help you in creating authority articles for the website, if you need any. I have written many medical articles and would be willing to show you some samples. Please let me know.

Best Regards

Maybe post a job request on odesk. filter applicants and ask for their sample see if they fit your criterias.

Can you send me some samples and what you would charge for this? Regards

For traffic you have to go with some methods like Guest Posting,Yahoo Answers,Forum Postings etc which will be one great option and then share them on social sites for great traffic.

Thanks. How would you suggest I go about guest posting for a prosthetic device though? Thanks for your tips
