Need help with Google news site!!

I have a football site which is indexed in google news. I've been writing articles for a while and i'm getting decent traffic around 12000 visitors a month. But as you all know google news sites are considered to be gold mine. Maybe i don't know how to utilize this site to it's maximum!!

Any thoughts on this would be highly appreciated. I am also starting to think that i'm not covering up the real hot news in football everyday. If you know what news to cover to get more views it would be very helpful or any thoughts on how to always get in the top news in google news.

Now that you have the traffic, baby it.
Treat those visitors well. Take a look at "legit" news sites that are in your niche and do things they do. Test things and don't get spammy too fast. There plenty of CPA offers that you can use, adsense, etc. Look at a maxim or sports magazines for ads that work for the demographic. Give them what they are used to.

You can always sell it on flippa as well

What you need to avoid is someone complaining. If they do, you site will get pulled from Google news faster than you can blink.

Trust me that sucks.

It is not so much about the number of visitors though. You need to write about niches that pay well - financial niches tend to pay $1-4 per click. Regular news do not pay much since those kind of readers are only looking to read a little and leave your site. But smaller niches are more targeted and you have a better chance of getting a click on your ads. Of course, your Adsense positioning plays a huge roll too.
