Hi,

I have this client who is demanding only desktop/laptop traffic from adwords. I have been using adwords for a while but i could never eliminate tablet traffic and it usually stays around 50% of the total traffic. Sometimes even more. Tried few tweaks after research but doesn't work as expected. I know there are lot of settings and options in adwords so maybe i am missing something.

Also if it has anything to do with domain or host please let me know.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers.

There used to be a bid adjustment for tablets but they yanked it. I don't think it's possible to eliminate tablet traffic. 50% of total traffic is very high. I think the only way to lower your tablet bid would be using CPA bidding.

From Search you can't. Tablets are treated by AdWords like desktop/laptops. But if you are buying in display there you can select more specific devices or just block all android/ios devices.

best!

In fact More than 50% traffic right now...And related to bid adjustment we can only reduce bid on mobile devices. And if done so, tablet takes on maximum of traffic. Haven't tried CPA yet but anyone who has seen effects, please share.

But the ads have to be only on search network and thats the reason i am stuck. I have also seen more options in case of display network.

All you can do is add a PhP code to your site and Block all Tablet Traffic. Nothing you can do from Google Adwords end

Hi,

Had this in mind but doesn't that mean i am still charged for the traffic i am blocking?

Yes, you will be charged for the traffic. I used to sell my Tablet traffic but it all depends on niche !

As told before. Its for my client, so the traffic is pretty useless to me even if i get it separated from the PC traffic.

Pretty much stuck on it right now :(

Hi JinLegion, how much are you selling the mixed traffic for? I can't send PMs yet since, never been active posting on here but very interested in a joint venture.

First off, what is the clients reasoning behind only wanting desktop traffic and not wanting tablet traffic?

If you understand their objections you might be able to think about that traffic in another light and go from there. Why not direct tablets to a different page that is built just for them and convert them?
Some of the best traffic (depending on the industry) can come from tablets. Higher end devices like ipads can be people who have more disposable income.
