Hey everyone, I am going to target a medium difficulty keyword, The keyword is related to a product from a famous brand. So, I want to rank for all the products from that brand. I will basically create an info page of the product as my competitors. The information will rarely be updated like mostly the prices. So, Should I create a post about that product with category as a brand name or Should I go with a page for e.g I will create a page targeting the brand name then create subpages for the product.

Option 1: Home page >> category ( brand Name) >> Post ( Brand Product )
Option 2: Home page >> Page ( Brand Name ) >> Product ( Sub pages )

Also if I want to rank for the brand keyword, which method should I go the page or category taxonomy.

I never saw any difference between pages and post. If you are planning to create a lot of content it's probably more easy to go with category and posts. If it's one piece of content i'll go with pages

As you said information will not update over a time, then you should go for pages.

Yes, that would be easier, also is it possible to rank for the brand keyword itself with category pages or does a dedicated page has a better chance.

Same chance if you will create the same type of content and number of links

For SEO purposes the difference between a page and a post is minimal but can be significant based on how you use your tools.
Think of it this way, SERP bumps aren't just SEO but also traffic patterns on your site. When you go to Nike, how is their's set up? As individual pages or posts? How about Samsung or any other big brand? This is important because you want to mimic their strategy such that another visitor sees your site and it is completely User Friendly.

If putting the Brand as a Page and Products as posts work for Nike then that is what I am doing. I do think this is the best way because you can use the categories to your advantage. So, I think you should combine the options.

Option 3: Home page >> Page ( Brand Name ) >> Category (Brand Name) >> Product ( Sub pages )

Categories in WordPress aren't seen on the site menus but rather can be made for easy navigation on the side, can show up in the Post Address, and can be used in the search functions. This means that the Header Menu Bar is Pages with Posts below them. The posts are INTERNALLY organized by categories but this isn't in the Header Menu.

Focus on User Experience First

You can't organize your pages into categories like you can posts. Apart from that, they are identical.

Speaking in terms of SEO, pages and posts are pretty much identical. However, given that you can organize posts into categories, I would give them a slight advantage. I just prefer a neater site, and I’m probably not the only one. Again, there is very little difference, SEO-wise, so this decision will come down to your personal preference.
