Greetings, I am seeking advice. Previously, I had created a website blog news for a client, whose company has now closed down. However, I was able to purchase their expired domain and have a backup of the website and its tech news content, which I intend to restore along with the website design. My reason for doing so is that the website has already established backlinks, and I believe it would be simpler to rank rather than starting a new blog. However, I am concerned about the possibility of facing legal action in the future. Can you advise me on this matter? Thank you.

Since the company is closed, I don't see any problem acquiring the expired domain. The problem is with the backup, because that thing was owned by the company (even closed now). The best scenario is to talk with your old client, and ask him directly if you can continue the job on the old site.
