The other situation is when a product has a big discount but it's not changed in their electronic system so that the cash terminal shows the wrong prices.

today namecheap trying to trick me...
I had a chat last days to change my monthly $6 hosting plan to annaual they gave me good discoount, $52 hosting +my dedicated ip.

But today my dashboard is showing an actual invoice of $21,30 for one month !
He ?
Now the live chat support is checking that, they trying tricking me to pay these $21,30 extra to the $52 annual plan discount...
An issue in their dashboard? Under my dashboard webhosting- domains click on manage it's showing $21,30 till June2, 2023 .

What is going on with namecheap ?

now find the culprit with th elive chat guy, in my dashboard-webhosting-renew there was 2 items of the same webhosting plan !
They tried to trick me paying both...i
Removed the old $21,30 plan and renew the annual plan with discount -problem solved.

This is weird....
I hope they not become like godaddy one day and doing changings during the night when you sleep.....this would be like this: I must pay these 2 same webhosting items, when not, they shutdown, I not have any access to my website to make backup or clone it....

Also when you not check your webhosting dashboard (client area) every month few days before any invoice......then you will get shocking surprises...
This was an dashboard iussue?
 
Now I got email from namecheap, yesterday I changed my monthly billing plan $6 to annual plan+my dedicated ip (+$2 month)
They confirmed me that their prices for dedicated ip now are changing from $2 /month to $4 /month, so I get new invoice in July 6, with another $20 or 40 total....

This means next year June 2024 my namecheap renewal is $72 + the new price for dedicated ip= +$40 = $112
It looks like they trying now any trick to suck out your money ?

Changing prices 1 day after my upgrade to anual plan...

can you protect your domain getting squatted ? I mean can someone steal your domain name and register it as a trademark ?
I hope not....
Many people today creating modern words domain names (branding names) it would be a mess of crime when a big site owner with money, stealing your name to register it as a trademark.
 
many times saw this thing, put something in your cart, leave it there, and the domain is bought and put for sale at around 300-500$, happens only with namecheap, no way someone would be buying the same domains in a row and putting them for sale with the same registar
 
GoDaddy is far worse but namecheap is just under them. Find a Domain Provider in the middle that cares about their customers.
 
Should I consider moving my websites away from NameCheap?

What hosting do you recommend?
 
Noted. We need to have sharp eye on our wallet from now and on.

I had similar moments, when they take a little more, but fu** it, for 12 years spent with them I never had a single problem.


For anyone asking in future if NC is good or not...

Namecheap is solid for starting your projects, when you grow up you can choose where you want to go.
