Namecheap could be stealing from you.

they are assisting you accordingly that how that person felt that day ;) @Topiano

but to be fair, i might be crazy but hear me out
Isn't it normal to always double check what is in your cart & the cost of it before clicking pay?
I mean, yes, they fucked up and it was out of the norm but, that's no different than going to the grocery store, and the label said todays' banana is on sale for $0.99 a bundle while you scanned it and it was priced at $3.99 since the discount wasn't entered in the system correctly.

& for everyone else regarding the customer service, I think most people forget to honestly understand
CS reps really don't have power to do shit honestly.
Most companies will make them go thru approvals before any exception or $$ related transaction is made.
This isn't a 1 man company where the rep is the owner and he can do anything he wants.
There are procedures for this & sadly, it's long-winded and Tops is just stuck on the shitty end of the stick
I do hope you get your money back though & if you don't, please let us know
Ill move all my domains out of NC on the same day.

Blame it on the developers instead of using the refund button? Yeah, good customer service...lol

xReminisce: yes it's so sad today, but normal not be afraid, NC is not godaddy they not doing criminal things like godaddy.
Now I come back from supermarket buy some food for this week and see
date tomato peel €0.77 on the price shield (I'm from germany)

but wait a minute, at the checkout then €2.92 ! I said wait a moment the price is not right the price is at €0.77 on the price shield.

I say it again my theory is when you have webhosting on monthly billing cycle you will be on the more safe side, so that the webhost provider will not doing 3-6x folds renewal price changings....or that they take your money 2x times in a month from your paypal this can happen, but it's very rare exclude godaddy.

Nope, it's €0.77 par 100gr.
They make the fineprint fonts so small, that you don't recognize it, i'm not surprised that something like this is allowed in europe
But all these supermarket chains in europe are wef members it's so sad this on planet earth.

Buyinfg 20 articles then I check fast with my eyes on the cash terminals each item, then the moment you hold upfront your card, all items on the cash terminal display are removed.

So you are the type to just buy things for grocery and not even look at the invoice or receipt?
Then when your card is charged more than what you think you should of charged, go all karen at the customer rep?
yeah, okay sure, That's one way to look at it.
What's the point of a cart if you don't use it.
Might aswell just go Amazon's 1 click checkout everything moving forward.

Everyone makes mistakes, even devs, and you too and as much as you would not want to believe this.
Bugs and glitches and issues falls through the cracks of QCs and make it to production.

It's a different issue if Tops didnt get refunded, that's just a dick move by NC.

dear xReminisce; in supermarket I always look first at the card cash termninal display, so today I saw for these tomatoes the price of 2,92€, I said: stop price is wrong, on the tomatoe regal the price shield showed 0,77 , but below was a very small font fineprint that this price was for 100gr. not the whole peel. So the cashier checked it cam eback anbd told me the price is 0,77 par 100gr. not the whole peel.

Then I said please remove this item from the card terminal, I not bought it.
Yes everyone makes mistakes in life, but it was so today the fineprint font on the tomatoe price shield was so small you not recognize it=
premeditated action. Oh no it was not premeditated action this was fallen from heaven yeah right ? uffffff.......

Does serious supermarket CEO's needing such scammy tricks? On all supermarkets this happened when you not check the all the items on cash card terminal display before you pay with your card- you have lost, when you was wrong looking at the price shield or at the wrong product price shield.

Today they put the price shields and products so narrow close together, that everyday people buying and paying the wrong price , they doing this with premeditated action, which is criminal fraud. But the government allows it....

Fuck the governments today no matter if it's US, Uk or EU.....you see criminal warmonger politicians all over the world.
Have peace and a restful evening.

ive had a few domains disappear from my cart as i finish paying them recently .one was instantly up for sale for $1500 lol .i rarely use them now aside from a hosting package i paid up front for

Then that is EXACTLY what topz is asking people to do
Read the cart before you pay for anything.
Because, that shit could be wrong.
If you see it's wrong, and proceeds to buy it, unpopular opinion here but that shit is on you & you saw it and decided, you are gonna buy it anyways.

So your point is the same as OP which is the same as mine.
So?????
And to my other point
Have you even worked in a company before?
As an employee, even at mcdonalds, you think the guy who serving you has the power to do a freaking refund without going up the chain to his manager?

Also not gonna derail anymore on that
Tops, you should just jump ship and get a full refund.
Surely you can spend a sunday and migrate things over to a new host :)

yes I understand you.
I must be more care about looking at the product price shields when I buyiong food in supermarket.

I always have to take a magnifying glass with me, hahahaha...
The other situation is when a product has a big discount but it's not changed in their electronic system so that the cash terminal shows the wrong prices.
Today you must take care on everyone and on every thing at same time....
It was my fault today .

Have restful evening

Namecheap support has always been so good for me. Help with everything. No complaint yet.
they told me my half nude porn site was allowed, locked my domain for 2 months(asking for documents from all my models) , then banned me and didn't even save the backup i paid for.

suspect one of the workers stole the doucments too because one of my models all sudden has banks with negative balance in her name.

namecheap quickly going downhill to rest in the grave along with godaddy. they used to be the shit long time ago. now they are shit.
it's more and more horror stories every year. from stealing your domain. taking back domains (huge WTF). crazy billing practices.
those considering alternative registrars look at namesilo.com and porkbun.com. stay away from spaceship, looks like they are owned by namecheap.

dear people, not make me scary of namecheap horror stories...I can not believe that they doing the same criminal shit today as gofuckdaddy?
Whats happen on planet earth ?
But when this criminal tricky gofuckdaddy scams coming around and every webhosting provider is doing it- then good night...

Based on my experience their webhosting is not bad their support sometimes very slow but try to help you, the only thing I see some shady is their dashboard I can not delete old domains or webhositng packages I can only set the auto renewal payment to off.
I wonder about that.

What I heard is that they doing same domain stealing when you are on domain search but not buy it right now, on th enext day the domain is taen by them, but be on the neutral liberal side when you not buy now your domain name, everyone include namecheap has the right to buy it.
Yes it's shady because they have in their backend a software who is shopwing how much people have searched for that domain name, so they knowing the value of a domain premium price to claim it and sell it for premium price on their marketplace.

When all the big webhosting providers will become members of wef then we get a new era of feudalism, they take all from you.
New thoughts now on my mind, it's better to have your own environment, when you have some money , buy a metal server and setup all things, settings, configurations, software and cpanel yourself or...when you have 5 domains (example) give each of them ram+cpu inode limits and all that stuff.
Then running your own server environment, downside is your electricity billing will be raising up.

I see on most webhosting providers their "policies" sound more like a miracle not like a policy with clear rules.

Have goodnight rest

most webhosting providers when you take care of nit have abusing high cpu usage,

keep your pho scripts/ queries low then you shoukd be fine.

when you are in adult niches, xxl, gambling...then best advice is;
have your email, domain, ssl and webhosting all on a offshore webhosting provider, you should be fine.

on all other normal niches get best email security , a cdn but not cloudflare and have this seven layer DDOS protection and no one webhosting provider will act against you- but that's expensive.

goodnight

Their support is terrible. Instead of helping they send me to a general page and expect me to do the research myself. It's so hard to find any real human contact and when I do they are not helpful at all.
Their docucments are overly complicated. An advance developer would have no problem, but for a novice user they are almost impossible to understand.
It seems like they are following the path of GoDaddy. This is sad. They are once had a good reputation.

Most providers have these weird "issues" and generally every provider once it gets big enough it stops caring about some things.
But they are not bad in general sense, just have somewhat shady tactics.

Keep in mind that customer support is usually some Indian guy or Russian or something like that that is heavily underpaid so they dont really even care and half of the time probably have no idea what you are talking about :D
I have used Namecheap for years for different projects and still do and we had some problems here and there, but you get what you pay for i guess.

I had some issues with double payments etc before, and while it may seem like its happening on purpose(it definitely can be that), there are scenarios when its really not, just some underpaid dev guy not caring at all and writing code half drunk.

today namecheap trying to trick me...
I had a chat last days to change my monthly $6 hosting plan to annaual they gave me good discoount, $52 hosting +my dedicated ip.

But today my dashboard is showing an actual invoice of $21,30 for one month !
He ?
Now the live chat support is checking that, they trying tricking me to pay these $21,30 extra to the $52 annual plan discount...
An issue in their dashboard? Under my dashboard webhosting- domains click on manage it's showing $21,30 till June2, 2023 .

What is going on with namecheap ?
