Namecheap has some asshole practices as their standards.
If you renew stuff like SSL for more than two or five years, you'll get notification that you need to buy and renew next year anyway. No mention anywhere that you have stored years of free renewals.
I be satisfied with namecheap and yes I see some slight tricky part they use, when I set in my dashboard domain sI not use anymore, I can set them to auto renew off but I can not delete them. So I think they will take my domain name after grace period and sell it on their auction.
Most important thing is paypal auto renew payment to your webhosting, paypal gives the merchants a legal grayhat loophole to take money from you any time they want (expecial with godaddy) see this note I got from my paypal account after setup new payment:
"Merchants can collect payments from a customer's PayPal account at a later date by direct debit. These payments are collected only when needed and not at a set time. You no longer need to log into your PayPal account when these payments are sent."
The trick here is the "set time" set time only would be correct, this is the date on next month you get the new webhosting invoice.
I bought today webhosting plan at Tuesday, so 30 May 2023 will be the next set time: 30 June next month as an example.
Not when the merchants need it- this means they can take at anytime and as many times the merchant wants.
Please be aware of that ,the next years (I hope not) WEF will make our lifes harder and more expensive, so please be aware when you have auto renewal paypal payments, merchants will doing all tricks to leech your money out form paypal.
Godaddy last year I had a hosting package with them they took in one month 2x times money from my paypal account ! Paypal allows it with htis loophole "when needed" isntead of "set time".
