My YouTube Journey

  • Intro
Hey BHW! To start off with... I'm going to introduce my self. My name is Dave and I am 15. I found BHW about 2 weeks ago and I was very intrigued by the content of this website. I have already met great people in my 2 weeks here and I hope to stay for many years. Let me tell you guys about my mindset. I always dreamed of being rich and having the luxurious lifestyle as a young kid. I never really liked school and I would always play video games and hang out with my friends. When I was 12, I got surgery and all I could do was sit on my chair and use my computer for 2 months that summer. I just played Minecraft all day. My days at the time usually went as follows. Wake up, Eat, Minecraft and Sleep. I got bored so I went on YouTube and looked up mod tutorials for it. YouTube did not have any and I decide to fill in the role as a modder and got a lot of success at a young age.

  • Background Info
I started my channel on the 4th of July a few years back and decided to post modding videos on it since there were barely any on YouTube at the time. I also posted lets plays which were semi successful but I did not upload consistently. Now at this moment, I'm sitting at 4,040 subscribers and I was at 3,962 subscribers two days ago.
  • Plan
Over the past 2 weeks I have been uploading consistently and I am currently in the gaming niche. My plan is to upload 3-4 times a week and I also plan to optimize my video tags so it can get as much traffic as possible. I am going to use a method that I have created to grow my YouTube channel and it seems to be working. I aim for high traffic keywords and my method gets my video on the front page in less than 36 hrs.

  • Goal

100,000 Subscribers / 30,000 - 40,000 Video View Per Day - By Jan. 1 2017
500,000 Subscribers / 300,000 - 400,000 Video Views Per Day -
By Jun. 25 2017

1,000,000 Subscribers - By Jan. 1 2018

  • Conclusion
I know it's going to be hard. Nothing in life comes easy. I'm going to work my hardest to achieve those goals above this paragraph and nobody is going to stop me. I've been researching this website until 4 in the morning to learn something new each and everyday. I may be a newbie but I will need a legendary work ethic to make this work out. Thanks so much for taking the time out your day in reading this.. I appreciate it. Like I've said to my self many times... anything is possible with hard work.

Good luck OP. I've done the same thing. The biggest thing with YouTube and gaming especially is consistency. People watch your for your personality, so if you're entertaining and consistent, anything is possible, all in good time though.

UPDATE:

So Its Been 2-3 Days and I got some nice progress. I uploaded 1 video since I posted this thread and I plan to upload more. On another note, I will not be able to upload for 2 weeks because I am going on a hiatus and it's going to be international.

Subscriber Count - 4,149 / + 104 Subscribers
Average Views Per Day - ~ 5667 Views

Record a few vids ahead of time and upload them.

You then set them for a scheduled release and you pick the date and time that they go live. It'll look more consistent than taking 2 weeks off.

One thing I've learned if you have momentum, hit it hard. Good Luck!

Do you make the video by yourself?
How do you find the keywords that are easy to rank?

Good luck bro. I hope you have fun doing it man.

I'm currently thinking about starting a youtube community channel and don't know how stressful youtube really is. Is it easy being a youtube and do you have any tips lol.

Young and hungry!
Watching this thread, best of luck man :)

UPDATE

As of this month, I haven't really been on bhw or YouTube because of school. BUT the growth has not stopped. Here are the numbers from the last month.

Subscribers - 5,080 ~ +931 Subscribers
Views Per Day - ~1,000-2,000 ~ -4,000-3,000 views per day

Okay I can't make an excuse and say I blame it on school. I could have literally made more videos than what I have right now. I've only made 4 videos since posting this thread and I could have made A LOT MORE. I'll actually try to take this really serious and see what the results are! Thanks for the support throughout!
