My Webdesign Homepage

Hello everyone

I've been doing web design for a few years now and, like everyone else, I'm unfortunately faced with the issue of not having enough customers. At the moment it is very difficult to find customers. My last order was in June 2023 and so far only one request. My visibility on Google is modest, although I always try to optimize something, I can't get any higher in the ranking. The keywords are also very competitive.

Maybe you have tips and tricks for me on what else I can do to achieve a better ranking and get more orders.

Personally, I don't like your site. Not a single one of your 4 pages has any images on it, only walls of text that nobody cares about...

And the entire "above the fold" space which is - arguably - the most important space of a website is filled with the headline, this looks so unprofessional and even outdated if I dare say so...

I would totally revamp the homepage, that's the most important page (and the one that gives the 1st - good or bad - impression) of a service-based website. Add more images (happy people, screenshots of sites that your company had created, that sorta crap) and make the headline smaller.... actually, make the top bar narrower, too. It occupies a lot of space (at least I don't like it, that's just my opinion, I obviously can't speak about your customer's opinion)

As for ranking / getting customers... I don't know what to say other than the fact that you're in one of the toughest niches that I've seen. Your best bet is probably to set up a blog and going after long tail keywords. You'll need a decent keyword research tool for this and you'll need to spend a good few days finding 50-100 long tail keywords (10+ words long since this industry is so competitive) and create content around those keywords and index that content in google and then start building links to them... the usual SEO stuff...

And then - within 6-9 months - AFTER you have done this, you should start seeing traffic coming in and hopefully make some sales. But not with that horrible design, you need to fix the design of your site first. If only you could find a web design company that could do it

Everything tazarbm said. I'd add another suggestion based on what I felt:

You've gone overboard with the css animations on your site. Site looks a bit too flashy with too many moving parts.

I know you might be think that adding complex features on your site might help showcase your web design skills but it's probably doing the opposite. Keep the design simple.

Your users will convert based on your work samples and reviews (and success stories from your previous clients), not your landing page design.
