My site needs speeding up. Who should I trust?

I always optimize website speed by myself, so I can't recommend any service here based on my experience but as far as I can see many reputable members are happy with @kindablack service :)

Just fix it yourself. It might take 5 minutes if you are using Wordpress.

Visit https://gtmetrix.com/ to check whats the problem
mostly its because of cache or image size.

I appreciate you sharing the link.
I am not sure what a server in Vancouver Canada can do for me here in Los Angeles
I think site speed is relative to server location.
Maybe the next frontier in SEO is website servers inside the locations they are targeting.
Worth a test.

For the betterment of the real users out here I challenge you to write your method.
The real person(s) out there would read it and respond with insights you are overlooking, improving your method.
The real people would appreciate your work.

It's nothing complicated or innovative :D what are usually do:

- I use good WP theme,
- good hosting, I was happy with @AbeloHost and it was in general the best hosting provider I have ever used. They had problems some time ago and they suspend their business for awhile. I see they go back on the market so I think about transfering all my websites to their servers again, don't know if they are still good, but will test their service in the future,
- optimised all images,
- overwrite Htaccess according to these tips https://www.google.com/amp/s/technumero.com/increase-page-speed-using-htaccess-wordpress/amp/ /// use cache plugin,
- check website on https://gtmetrix.com/ and see what else I can do.

Those are super appreciated tips
I will read the pages you are referencing
Thanks man.

I wanted not to be a part of this thread for not looking like I am promoting my service. But, just I need to clear something.

Also; kindablack only offered gtmetrix. I wasn't interested in that, so much as pagespeed insights. As it's GOOGLE. If you score well with their system's page speed analytics, then you'll in all likelyhood rank well. Not based off the metrics of other sites OVER google's own algo.

I think you confused it with another message. I haven't only offered GTmetrix. I haven't even written "GTmetrix" word. Check the answer I sent you yesterday:

@Meddie, @Kilterman and, @Ninah thanks a bunch for mentioning me.

No problem:)

I grew up mostly doing offsite seo, and paid someone for most of the onsite stuff, although I know onsite metrics fairly well.

I just smile with this one. I am doing totally opposite, always do on-page SEO by myself. Dont like when someone tinker with my websites:

:D

But not have time for off-page SEO (except some social shares), so I usually buy some SEO packages/backlinks.

Very good advices here. Some of the suggestions are easy to implement, example: caching plugin, images compression, etc. I would do that first, since it's easy and fast.

If even after that, the speed was not the desired I would then try to go with a CDN or hiring someone for extra optimization.

One note: the quality of the hosting server is a major factor.

Well, I had someone that liked to do onpage stuff working for me, and I found that most if not all of the packages were not sufficient when people provided backlink reports. Mega spammy, and I could do it a lot better / use my own methods that were efficient at ranking #1 in the past. I stopped trusting outsourcing so much.

I wasn't looking for gtmetrix score though, of course it's going to "improve pagespeed insights" to whatever degree it does when you optimize for gtmetrix as your service promotes.

I was looking for someone to souly focus on pagespeed insights though, and rank my score higher with that specifically. Hense why I started this thread.

A couple things...

I'm definitely not selling anything and not offering this service right now. I'm just having health issues, stuck inside working this weekend, and have been doing the same thing this user is requesting for a couple weeks straight, it's easy to me. I appreciate some of the skepticism or wanting of clarification, we all want to see this forum safe and striving. I am not a new member I only haven't posted for some time and I am the sole owner of this account, I have not purchased or sold it. That out of the way.

One other reason I really would like to help this user is because they stated they used fiverr and I would not be surprised to see some altered or injected scripts. WP is riddled with backdoors and security risks enough without giving a stranger admin access. The only way to avoid this is to trust the plugins you use, check them with tools and go through the code, never use nulled themes (even if they seem safe I have noticed a few that pass VT and still contain malicious code) and implement some of the basic security tweaks/known plugins.

To check if you may have already been compromised you can zip up your plugins/themes and run them through VirusTotal, deactivate plugins and recheck the site if you notice something suspicious (a page redirect) to see which plugin is malicious, check and follow the .php files to see communication with any unknown host, or use a network analyzer.

Edit: @MenInBlack you can use the Multi-Quote tool. Also yes I run Google Lighthouse Audits in the DevTools Panel, results usually exact to PageSpeed Insights ad run with mobile Fast 3g in mind as that is the first test Google uses and have noticed the biggest additional ranking boost as far as speed with.

Oh boy, you are so right. You will never know what will happen in the future with your backlinks when you buy them from someone else. Of course, it's better to do stuff by ourselves, but first: I don't like to do off-page SEO, second: don't have time for that ;) Now I have my favorite service, which works for me, so I will stick with it.
