DO start building backlinks, but slowly and gently
Also try a little bit of social, like a few tweets, social bookmarks, facebook likes and G+
Remember also that you want a steady pace - the worst thing you can do now is buy a ton of links (a spike of backlinks) then don't keep up the pace of your backlinking.
So buy the smallest, highest quality packages you can afford.

I had a similar thing, #7/#8 for a MNS. Tested out a 50 edu/gov comment package on Fiverr, one week later dropped to #46
Since then I've been slowly building links and adding content and moving back up... just don't make the same mistake!

Firstly happy to hear that ur MNS ranks #7 without any backlinks but hey it is not going to be there in the same position ever to increase ur rankings further i recommend u to add new contents and also do web2.0's as u say that u have started it is well and good !

I was doing some testings lately and I built up an MNS. I was able to Get to page 2 as soon in like 1 week without any backlinks. I had a lil different approach and I worked a lot on the quality of the contents. I didn't made my articles restricted to just 500 words. It was huge and descriptive. So having a good Onsite SEO + quality contents would make a huge difference now.
